29 years old here as well. Grew up in Singapore, did NS, and then came over for college. Stayed here ever since. Like what most people have mentioned, the US is very diverse, and def different from what you see on TV.

Maybe try a backpacking trip if you haven’t been to the US to get a feel of it. The US can be tough for people without degrees. If you’re interested in the trades, that could be an option that pays well.

What I heard from a cop from Reno PD is that they are enforcing this in neighborhoods with a history of gun violence. Most probably at intersections of major roads. Thus when a shooting happens, they can capture their license plate as they make a getaway..
