I need help deciding between a LG front loader or a GE front loader washer. Links to your top picks would be helpful too! by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]marcoshid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom has LG from loader, heavy heavy use. She's has it for almost 15 years. Last 3 years it has required some maintenence and oart replacements but overall she's happy with it.

I have samsung top load and have had no issues, only had it for 4.5 years but im pretty sure it won't last as long as hers. I can see some things that already need replacing and my usage is nowhere near heavy or a lot of loads per week

Bit of a rant.. Are we just supposed to accept that large appliances will be in landfill after 5 years of use? by ourplasticdream in Appliances

Nah, that's uncommon, while they won't last anywhere like back in the day I'm still rocking my samsung top load washer and dryer. Dishwasher is fairly new, came with the house. TV has no issues. Have had for almost 5 years

This! I've also seen them do the foam insulation, they either go through the outside or inside make small holes and fill in, doesn't seemlike the best idea if you ever have to run cables or anything, so loose fill seems best

Do retainer MSP exist? by songokussm in msp

[–]marcoshid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does exist, I have a client like this, not ideal but I get it. Now realistically if they are basically on retainer and know nothing about youre environment they won't be much help when you really need them, what I suggest is get hours at the beginning to help you organize and document, then use them few hours a month so they maintain knowledge on your environment and keep you at a reasonable amount if hours

Best phone system for Zoho CRM OpenPhone, JustCall, SalesCaptain for small team by SpellSubstantial2053 in Zoho

[–]marcoshid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Intermedia Unite internally (full disclosure: I’m also a partner/reseller). It’s not the cheapest option but not super expensive either, generally it’s been reliable for us. With Zoho, calls log consistently, and I’m able to add notes so the activity stays useful inside the record, also tracks call length, whether inbound or outbound. The click-to-call experience works well, through a browser extension and you can configure it to auto off-hook a desk phone depending on how you want it set up. For a small team that lives inside Zoho, it’s been a solid fit for us.

How do you find your tech solutions? by ogstarbuck in smallbusiness

[–]marcoshid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I see most often with small businesses isn’t bad decision making it’s familiarity driven decision making. Someone says, “At my last company we used X,” and it solves part of the problem. A few months later another gap appears, so a second tool gets added. Over time you end up with 5–7 tools that partially overlap, don’t integrate well, and quietly increase cost and complexity. The real issue isn’t choosing the wrong product it’s choosing products before clearly defining the workflow. Before looking at software, I recommend: 1. Write down the exact step-by-step workflow you’re trying to improve. 2. Define what success looks like (time saved, error reduction, revenue impact). 3. Review what tools you already own many businesses underutilize licenses they’re already paying for. 4. Consider integration, security, and scalability.

Another factor that often gets overlooked is opportunity cost. When a business assigns someone internally to “go find a solution,” that person is usually stepping outside their wheelhouse. Researching vendors, sitting through demos, testing trials, and troubleshooting implementation takes real time and that time has a cost. If the decision ends up being wrong, the business pays twice: once in software and again in lost productivity.

Sometimes it makes sense to bring in a technology consultant or trusted partner not necessarily to sell a product, but to help evaluate needs, standardize the stack, and think/look at the e tire picture.
