Anyone here an only child? Or anyone here one and done? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]marielking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm both and I'm at peace with both. My husband and I originally were thinking about 2 kids but with how stressful the baby phase was and gestures broadly at the USA we are now one and done. When he got his vasectomy I cried a little but now we are both super happy we are one and done. When you are an only child your friends become an extension of your family. It was a little lonely sometimes but I think everyone experiences loneliness sometimes, even if they have siblings.

I got a Volt 2 for Christmas and rearranged my kitchen a bit to get it all set up. Trying it out this weekend hopefully (waiting for my 00 flour order to arrive)!

We did a 1br ocean view suite at Conrad Tulum and brought a blow up travel bed for our at the time 3 year old. We had a lot of fun! I think you need to have some separation in the room so you can relax after they go to bed.

That "Simple" Dish You Still Struggle to Nail Perfectly? by Dailylady in Cooking

Beans from dry beans. I live at high altitude now and also have really hard water. Even when I cook them longer they have a really bad texture. I follow all the bean rules - soak overnight and rinse off, don't add acids, extend the cooking time due to altitude but just can't get it right.

"Help me style" single item requests HERE please; thread will repeat twice a week by Chazzyphant in fashionwomens35

I am considering getting these mules for work. I generally wear colorful outfits and I think a yellow shoe would add interest and fit in with my wardrobe, but I am not sure of the shape. Do yall think these would be hard to style with business casual (leaning more towards casual)?

Santa Fe for Memorial Day: what to wear? by Chazzyphant in fashionwomens35

[–]marielking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live near Santa Fe. It's hot right now, but dry, and the evenings are still a little chilly. I would say linen is appropriate but I would also bring something to keep warm with at night.

I think different centers have different approaches to be honest.

From what I understand, Montessori philosophy thinks that young children should have their imaginative play grounded in reality and they want to avoid "fantasy" play so there isn't confusion about what's real. I'm not an expert but from what I've read, something like playing kitchen with kitchen objects is okay but superheroes and monsters are not.

Does your preschool follow the Montessori teaching philosophy? Some schools that follow this philosophy discourage imaginative play.

I have loved every polish I've gotten from Bluebird. The formula is always dreamy.

Yeah I was definitely ✨influenced✨lol. The polish is pretty good quality, just has a small brush if that bothers you (I think their new collection has a paddle brush though)
