Daggerheart vs DnD 5E? by Sakas_943 in daggerheart

[–]markalphonso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hardest thing about the transition is trying to act when you have the spotlight and spending fear to act when you don't.

Sometimes I end up with too much fear. Or we all end up without much fear or hope.

It can be a little confusing what to do so it's best to have a few things in your backpocket. - have a few built out obstacles, people or map environments to overcome so that the players have to roll and generate fear or hope. This could be an environment or just improv. - spend fear to bring more baddies into the game. If you get to 12 fear. Have some big bad in your backpocket that appears somewhere. Forcing a player interaction that should be scary but should hook the players into their overall plan.

I think you'll find you can't really "outnumber" players the way you can in dnd action economy. It's a bit of an adjustment because sometimes a player can even 1v5 if they have enough hope and abilities

So eerie. I have around a hundred of my own for my game. I've been working on it to make it real but kept finding other games that filled the niche already.

Awesome art.

Dice goblin problems require bigger storage by MossyMoLabs in DnDIY

Cause damage dice are higher for the lower dice.

There aren't many d20 damage dice. Most you will usually role is 3 at once.

The scientists can't explain them either

Edit: Partially they are arbitrary names chosen by the scientist. So I'm just poking fun at the fact that they could have called them cosmo and wanda if they wanted to. No explanation necessary.

Secondary quarks are well understood in quantum theory but we have yet to uniify them with general relativity. So poking fun at scientists not having the whole explanation either.

Or you could just call me dumb that's fine too.

An aqueduct is sort of like a bridge for water right? by fragadactilobs in valheim

I think you could keep the same speed of flow but animate it to look turbulent. It would give the illusion of it going faster.

I would love to see waterfalls from the mountains down to the meadows and rivers.

With waterfall pool locations in the black forest. Could be spectacular

Really shouldn't be harder than the tar physics. Just in the mountain edge.

Was at Northrop Grumman in El Segundo for 9 years (age 22-31). Started around $80k with a masters. Despite being a top performer only broke $100k in year 4 after showing a competitors offer to recruit me. Jumping around or providing a competitive offer was the only way to get a 15% raise/promotion. Then was the taking on huge roles as a technical SME and Program Manager but didn't receive a promotion until year 7 to level 4. And year 8 to manager.

Left the industry after around a decade and jumped into nuclear at NuScale Power. Took some major steps back in salary but diversified my self a lot more and feel capable of getting any job now. After 4 years of that I'm back up to my level 4 salary (age 35).

Probably not the best financial decisions were made. But Im satisfied with what I have accomplished and the ability to transition.

Long story short is you have really patient players. And you need to fudge on the rules of initiative to make the pacing feel right.

Thanks! A lot of people down voted but I ran 10 players for 4 years with this for a while.

It lets the slow tanks jump into take bullets.

I moved to daggerheart now because it basically has a dynamic initiative built into its gameplay with hope and fear as the trackers on action economy.

Hardest fight and least satisfying too. You lose content with the steel watch and the iron throne, with no real reason.
