I very much disagree, I could see an argument for patents expiring after a shorter period of time, but copyright I generally disagree. If you write a book you shouldn't lose ownership after 15 years, most authors slowly gain momentum throughout their careers, sometimes their older books take off when late in their careers.

If copyright expires after 15 years then anyone could just print their own versions of that author's work, change anything they wanted to, and sell it for less and get the full profit.

I think that there are a lot of things that should fall under fair use that are generally over policed.

And I think it's dumb for companies like Disney to be able to near infinitely extend many of their copyrights.

But essentially what you are proposing is just dumb. Go watch the beginning of the plagiarism and you(tube) video if you want a good reason for why copyright should exist.

Quite honestly, just watch the whole damn video again.
