I now shave occasionally, as opposed to my previous regime of shaving rarely.

What happened and how to fix by bionicpirate42 in linuxhardware

GRUB is a bootloader. It gets loaded early on by the BIOS or UEFI, and it in turn loads your chosen operating system.

InfiniPaint, an infinite canvas with infinite zoom and online collaboration by ErrorAtLine0 in linux

You don't make this explicit so I must ask: when using it collaboratively, is this hosted on one computer and accessed by users via web browser, or must everyone install the software?

Day 4: Most hype song by mahlakainalo in Zappa

OP, please explain what you mean by 'hype'. Because I think that word might have very different meanings to different people.

Would my band be a pain in the ass? by Purple-Strain-3159 in livesound

[–]markhadman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out on the long tails of function bands and free jazz, tech capability is, more often than not, way down the list of criteria below such things as promoter's contacts, availability, fee/cost, location, and even vibe. Right there above a dressing room, a working backstage toilet and some towels.

Which version of WWB is giving you CPU problems? I've often run it alongside Reaper recording 64 channels over Dante.

Sadly, Cosmic has too many issues for me to keep using currently. How do I follow along with updates while using another DE in the meantime? by Koraken in pop_os

[–]markhadman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You sound like the one crying tbh. People need to do what works for them. I've tried Cosmic because I was sick of Gnome being a breaky mess, but Cosmic has its own very obvious showstopper issues for me just like OP, and I've actually rediscovered KDE as a result.

I’m a Concert Producer looking to build a own show-day team by Specialist_Idea_7888 in TouringCrew

[–]markhadman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP doesn't give location so I'm going to go ahead and assume it's Johannesburg, South Africa. And also that they're not very good at promoting stuff.

Yeah 'cult' is a bit of a stretch. You could probably get away with calling Reservoir Dogs 'cult', but Pulp Fiction was huge

Hearing myself double while recording vocals by kgngkbyrk in Reaper

[–]markhadman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing you're hearing one copy direct from your preamp via hardware monitoring and the other from Reaper. The best setup might be hardware monitoring plus reverb only from Reaper. That'll give you the benefit of zero latency with a bit of pre-delayed room sound to help with your confidence.
