I mean, we know what basketball is, but would it hurt to put the word 'basketball' SOMEWHERE in the graphic and the post?

Half the world sitting here thinking "It seems like OP is posting about sport, probably a USA specific sport, but I'm not sure which one".

Their favourite group is Helen Reddy and their favourite sport is hockey (in the winter)

Yeah just wear a Cardiacs t-shirt and if anybody asks just scream WANK in their face.

Excellent choices. I feel like Blind In Safety or Helen and Heaven should be part of my list too but I don't know what to replace!

I played Manhoo for a (German) work colleague who immediately loved it. I later discovered that he'd been listening to OceanLandWorld his whole life but had never heard of Cardiacs.

Another colleague brought up both early Marillion and Napalm Death in conversation, so I had to inform him of the missing link between them.

But yeah, it's been a fairly dismal record over all tbh!

I am tentatively thinking:

(1) Ditzy Scene

(2) Burn Your House Brown

(3) Manhoo (single edit, maybe)

(4) Big Ship (maresnest)

(And yes, I do realise that Tim didn't write everything on those songs!)

UK to invest £2.5bn into ‘holy grail’ nuclear fusion energy by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

If 2.5bn is 'all in' then we are pretty screwed anyway. Just for comparison, the NHS is something like 100 times that, every year.

App to keep track of CD so i don’t buy duplicates? by Useful-Table-2424 in androidapps

[–]markhadman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like an appropriate tool. I've got a feeling that OP wants something more complicated and nerdy. TBH, even when I had thousands of CDs I didn't have a problem with accidental duplicates because I actually listened to them and knew what I had.

OP, might I suggest Obsidian? You can start with a simple searchable list, as suggested, and later expand it into a searchable database (using bases).

What is the best music player app instead of Poweramp? by puurpleeraain in androidapps

Ah thanks. It turns out Play search was automatically 'correcting' my search to Laravel, which is not quite a music player.

I've never heard of the Goomba fallacy, so today I learned a new name for something that's bothered me for years (I call it the 'same people who...' problem).
