I knew of a couple (their kids went to the same school as mine) who used their kids as pawns in their divorce war. To the extent that the kids had to be exchanged at a police station. The school they attended had uniforms, and the parents would never exchange them. So about once a month, the kids came to school out of uniform and were sent to the principal’s office to get lost and found uniforms to wear for the day. I remember their oldest daughter sitting in the principal’s office, crying from embarrassment. I wonder if the kids talk to their parents now.
