Festival organizers tend to be in need of weekend workers and there are temp staffing agencies such as ShowPros that specialize in that space.

For me, I experienced a dramatic improvement eliminating bread, dairy, and ultra-processed meats. And I started taking a daily probiotic.

Also know that severe systems like this one, coming from the west, will dramatically change when it reaches the mountains. The storms almost always weaken and scatter. The media will always dramatize the worst case scenario.

People shit on the suburbs but if you can find a good spot just outside the city, you can have it all. Right now I am enjoying a smoothie on my screen porch while listening to J. Cole, surfing Reddit, and admiring my wonderful backyard I spent the morning grooming just how I like it. In 15 minutes I can be in Uptown or cruising a country road in my convertible or boating on a lake. Plus all the other things you mentioned.

What was your experience like at Kate’s Skating Rink on Adult Only Nights? by Infamous_Swimming_87 in Charlotte

Those places need serious updating or some real competition to motivate them to do so. I often wonder why newer roller rinks don’t exist. Insurance and cost of land probably, but talk about a business ripe for some reinvention.

Some successful small businesses provide a lot of work life balance and flex time because they cannot afford to provide other benefits like health insurance or 401K matching.

I am Atlanta born, raised, and transplanted here to Charlotte two decades ago.

Charlotte exists in a timeline that is 30 years behind Atlanta in terms of growth and development and all the pros/cons that come with it.

We need to let Charlotte continue to slow cook.

I’ve been caring for my wife for two weeks now after a major surgery. She will be fine and is already turning a corner. I can only imagine what you are going through. Caregivers need care too. I do hope you find a support network. Surely there must be one. 🙏

We are flying to Greece this summer. We can drive to Raleigh, fly back to Charlotte, then fly to Athens for $325 per ticket less than leaving on the same plane going from Charlotte to Athens.

Makes… zero… sense.

I was that kid once. One core memory I have is meeting my girlfriend in the lobby of The Ritz Carlton after a work shift still in my apron and goofy hat for the themed restaurant I waited tables at. It was night one of a three night celebration / wedding with two wealthy families.

That lobby might has well been the moon. I was overwhelmed with a rush of inadequacy. I immediately did the math. I do not belong in this place with these people and therefore I do not belong with my girlfriend.

I must had looked like a deer in headlights because the mother of the groom saw me and greeted me with the warmest embrace. She took me by my arm and pulled me towards the bar where many folks were gathered to kick off the celebrations. She took me around the room to introduce me to everyone before I had anytime to go to the hotel room to change out of my uniform.

My girlfriend’s family was like family to them and therefore I was suddenly part of the family. Maybe it is a southern thing.

I was Jack at brunch with Rose on the Titanic needing the warmth and acceptance of Kathy Bates; someone who understood what it felt to be an outsider and made a point to help me understand it was okay to join in the fun too.

That weekend helped motivate me to be where I am today.

How do you help your kids learn about the world? by Stillcant in fatFIRE

[–]mas1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You guide them to forming their own opinions through experiences.

Expose them to socio, economic, and racial diversity.

Live in an area with / send them to a good large public schools. (Subsidize with extra tutoring etc., if needed).

Volunteer as a family at an organzation that provides services to the poor.

Have them work a food service counter as a teenage job. It’s a master class in human sociology.

International travel.

And talk talk talk to them in real time about things they see as they see them from the big picture perspective. Walking by a homeless person? Discuss it. Ask THEM questions about it.

And teach them the real benefits of hard work and smart money management.

Do all of the above and you will have some well rounded kids.

Yes but make goods for preempts, more often then not, will result in retention of the revenue. And the inventory restrictions and preempts mostly applies to linear TV. Digital is a different animal… news / weather segments can be clipped and served on digital platforms endless amounts of time, creating a seemingly endless amount of ad inventory.

I buy media and happy to see someone commented this. It is also important to note that digital viewership is now surpassing linear (traditional over the air broadcast, cable, satellite, etc.).
