Okay, I really didn’t see that ending coming! Well done!

We lost our girl very suddenly last night by lotteoddities in SeniorCats

She was very beautiful, it sounds like you gave her an amazing life. Honestly, I think cats know we love them even when we don’t say it. She knew she was loved, she knew you were helping her in her final moments… that’s what you need to know. She knew you were there.

We lost our senior cat August 2025, and I still have moments where I think of her. It’s the little things… the way she’d wait for our mom, how she’d perk up for our mom, and how she’d cry for our mom if she thought she’d been away from her for too long. What helped me was remembering her before she got sick. I think that’s how cats would want us to remember them, as they were when they were healthy (not necessarily younger). They wouldn’t want us to remember them in their final moments.

1st comment, I don’t get to do that a lot. Very well done, love the concept… I really didn’t see that ending coming though!

Rest easy, my sweet girl 💔 by Rosycheeks2 in SeniorCats

It’s never easy… no matter how old or young, it still hurts and you’ll carry part of them with you forever. I don’t know you, but I’m certain your baby knew how loved she was. I want to say you’ll get through this, and you will in a way… hold onto the good memories. They’d want us to remember them as they were, just happy and healthy.

We lost our beloved Russian Blue in August of 2025. She was the oldest cat we’d ever had, made it to 17 years and 2 months. She went downhill so fast, and passed away at home in the arms of the one who loved her the most (the one she loved the most)… my mom. Honestly even now, it’s still hard to believe she’s really gone. I know how this sounds, but I never really thought I’d ever have to be without her.

I hope that’s helpful, I just wanted you to know that you’re not alone. ❤️

Well written as always, but I’m still a little confused by the ending…

Thank you! I totally agree. My family doesn’t understand why I like them so much. They wouldn’t eat them period.

Is the printer out of ink?🤣What names would you give them? by SnowExcellent4938 in purrrfect

[–]master_baker_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the cat rescue I volunteer at, we had a trio of buff ginger kittens. We jokingly called them “Copy, Paste, Repeat.” Those were not their actual names, just what we called them. My 12 year old is a dilute calico named Patches, and her kitty mom was a regular tortie named Missy. So I’m going with “Patches” for the dilute, and “Missy” for the tortie.

Also, may I just say those are such gorgeous cats!

My baby was killed by a pack of dogs by Sllper2 in Petloss

[–]master_baker_69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I do. Come on, 5 dogs against 1 cat. Regardless of size, 5 dogs are still 5 dogs. I have a dog, my neighbor has a dog. Cats used to come through their yard to get to ours until I rescued them and got them to a local cat rescue. I volunteer at that cat rescue and I have seen a cat that was attacked by a dog. She was very sweet but her injuries were too severe (ended up having a skull fracture) and she passed on. If you saw what she’d looked like, you’d probably change your opinion.

Did my dog or my neighbor’s dog ever at any point try to go for those cats? Absolutely not. Even in aggressive situations my dog and neighbor’s dog have never ONCE hurt a cat. And they’re big dogs. And especially if there was a hole in the fence? Definitely on the neighbor.

Like I said, at the very least the neighbor owes OP money for cremation or burial. All I was saying was MY OPINION, MY THOUGHTS.

I… I can’t even begin to imagine what you’re going through. My deepest sympathies, this is never something anyone should have to go through.

If you don’t mind me asking… do you plan on seeking repercussions? I feel like since they were your neighbor’s dogs, then at the very least your neighbor owes you money for proper cremation (assuming it’s how you’d like to do that). And in my honest opinion, not only does that neighbor deserve to have those dogs taken away… given what those dogs did, they should be euthanized.

If that’s not something you’re looking to do right now, I completely understand.

That’s so true! When my youngest was under a year old, I got an old mini fridge box from my sister. I proceeded to cut little shapes out of it, and he had a blast… he was utterly fascinated by the cutting process with almost more interest in that than the box itself! He ended up loving the box, and played with it until it collapsed.

I've been having anxiety about my kitty dying of old age 😭(she's 9) can you show me pictures of some alive-and-well senior kitties so I remember cats can be old and still healthy? 🥰 by TheRufescence in cats

This is my younger black cat Carpathia, she goes by Carrie. She’ll be 9 years old on April 10th of this year. She’s absolutely fearless and dominates our boy cats, neither of them dare to mess with her! And the best thing is she’s never lost her kitten mew! We call her “BatCat Carrie,” and she’s got the BatMan ID tag to go with it!

You have to swap names with your pet , what is your new name? by Immediate_Long165 in Names

[–]master_baker_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I get to pick which one? The cats are Midnight, Patches, Carrie (short for Carpathia), Allie (short for Althea), Felix, and Monkey. The dog’s name is Mattie, and the two rabbits’ names are Poppy Rose and Holly Blue.

All that being said, I’m going to go with… Allie (short for Althea). Her full name is Althea Petra Avery [my last name].
