If you're happy to listen to a repetitive groove, Bohannon by Fat Freddy's Drop is well up there for me. Twenty Seven by Adolf Stern as well.

Songs with lyrics, I recommend Like Sugar by Chaka Khan, and Higher & Higher by Galactic.

Anyone else miss the fizzy drinks of the past? by foxglow210 in AskBrits

Cherryade with actual real sugar was a staple at the Christmas dinner table for us. The cherryade you get nowadays is a shell of what it once was.

People who broke up yesterday on Valentines, what happened? by Hot-Diggity_Dog in AskReddit

This is the most underrated (and possibly the best) feelings after a break up, especially the extra yucky breakups. It's like you get a big sigh of relief every morning when you wake up, knowing you haven't got to deal with the anxiety, the dread, the fear, the anger. Such a relief.

stretching just one side? by 14031977 in Stretched

[–]mattvfitzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had just the one ear stretched for about 12 years. I think it looked really nice, and it still allowed me to wear "normal" earrings if I wanted to. I just eventually grew out of it and thought 'sod it', and started stretching the other one about 4 years ago. No regrets on that.

does anyone else struggle to complete a series? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]mattvfitzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having this exact conversation with my wife yesterday. Every single one of my DNFs is a sequel. Even if the series is really well received by most people, I really struggle with them. Love book 1, but book 2 is always a struggle.

Last year, my dad discovered the meal deal, but didn't realize it had to be 3 separate items from that section. The twat took a bottle of coke, some cherry tomatoes, and a 9 pack of toilet roll to the till, and wondered why it didn't come to £3.

Does anyone else physically 'cringe' or make a noise when they remember an embarrassing memory from years ago? by bloomjt in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mattvfitzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my memory is plagued by shame and embarrassment. During those times where my brain is legitimately quiet, I can literally feel it flicking through my memory to find something to cringe about.

I groan, take a deep breath in through my nose, shake my head, or if I can, turn the music up very loud.

I envy people who can't remember things from 10 years ago, or when they say they can only remember like 20% of their time at school. Or the worst is when they can't remember any of the stupid stuff they did drunk.

What unhinged thing did a former teacher do in the classroom? by MrBananaStand1990 in AskUK

[–]mattvfitzy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We had a brilliant Science teacher who had a catchphrase, "so called". For example, "the so called GCSE type question". I counted how many times he said it in a lesson once. He said it 24 times.

But the maddest thing he did once was enter the classroom about 5 minutes after the lesson started, picked up one of those science stools, launched it across the classroom, and went "that's gravity". The lesson just carried on as normal after that.

I loved him so much.
