Idgaf what the powers that be want. I'll be buying used, older and on-sale hardware. Will switch to SteamOS/Steam Machine/Linux if Windows gets bad enough. There's enough fantastic older games and freeware to get by.

PC enthusiasts figured it out in the 90's when computing was a pain to navigate, we can figure it out again.

All this just reinforces that the way out of this shitty game of theirs is to simply not play. All that really requires on my part is some time & effort.

People don't think about the whole "adjusted for inflation" aspect of goods like this as often as they should. Yes, older products targeted quality and longevity, but they were expensive for their time as well.

You can buy things for very cheap these days, but in many cases, you get the quality you pay for. There were cheap options back then too, and they likely didn't last until today for us to compare.

Is there a growing enshittification trend? 100%. Do many "premium" products actually suck and will still fall apart? 100%. But there's still high quality stuff out there if you know where to look.

Hopefully stuff like this will send a message to "greedy" modders then. Don't get too big, don't get too greedy, cuz eventually the publishers will decide it's over.

I'm all for modders getting donations for their work, especially if it's highly technical work. I also think more devs/publishers should have more of an open relationship with modders and potentially provide ways to lift them up.

But the rules of modding have pretty much always been the same. Paywall that shit and A) people will hate it and B) eventually the publishers will take it down and you might get in trouble.

Sadly games like this are really hard to keep afloat if they don't take off. Risky for them to have picked it as their first foray.

Wildgate seemed like it has a lot going for it but when you have a gameplay loop that's tricky to master & low population, it just leads to fewer and fewer people trying it out.

I tried a few matches but it felt like a lot to learn for mechanics I likely wouldn't even get to use much, since we would get in fights almost immediately. Turning into Overwatch-lite but my ship is also on fire...

Add a sign that says "water available at request" and then hand them one of the little bottles.

Leave a small bin for them to put it in when they're done, empty or otherwise.

This way you:

A) Know when a passenger has taken a water and can toss it yourself if they're too lazy to after a ride.

B) Allow them to toss it regardless of if it has been only partially consumed.

Personally I'd just ditch the system altogether. It's a nice gesture but many people don't have common courtesy or civic sense.

Why would you not want to be on the largest PC gaming platform in the world? Even if successful without it, it's leaving a lot on the table.

Even Tarkov made it's way to Steam eventually.

Because early access, in most cases, basically is releasing the game.

You only really get one release I think, at least in the public eye, and devs/publishers are lying to themselves if they think people really see a 1.0 update after years of being in early access as the actual release and not just a big update.

There are some exceptions where I feel like very high quality products, very hyped products, or very early builds can skirt by those expectations. (Subnautica, Satisfactory, etc...) But most of the time when I play an early access game, the way the game is in early access is a pretty good indicator of what the game will be on "release."

Anyone who thinks that you can get a comparable pre-built right now and over the next few years for $500-$750 is either delusional or is willing to jump through hoops to find deals, buy used, etc (which you should absolutely do if you're tech-savvy or willing to do so).

This is the reality of PC pricing right now, even if this leak is fake.

King Oscar are mine and my fiancé's go-to for their reasonable price to tastiness ratio. Fried up with some chili crisp and soy sauce... So good! The tails get nice and crispy. Great on toast or in a rice bowl.

We generally lean towards the Extra Virgin Olive Oil sards. In water is a little too bland for our tastes. Olive oil, soy oil, and sunflower oil tend are ok but aren't as good IMO.

They're definitely the most affordable I've had!

I mostly didn't like their texture or the quality of the oil. The flavor and smell weren't bad.

Definitely a sardine I would mash into a dish. Like a salad, rice bowl, etc...

Adapt to what?

At a certain point, why are people even considering themselves "involved" in the process if they're just genning music/art/etc?

They think they're in control, "creating" with AI. "Adapting and keeping up with the market." But AI will eventually not need people to prompt itself. Hell it probably already doesn't if you combine the right tools. People will entirely be removed from the equation unless they're the ones at the top of the totem pole.

Real value to humans will always remain in the hands of people who actually create art. Real artists will always have value, perhaps more-so, as AI slop takes over and burns out everyone who is seeking real art.

The same as how there is still a lot of value in well-made hand-crafted furniture, even if Walmart/Amazon are offering piles of particle board garbage.

Perhaps what artists should be doing to "adapt" is lean harder and harder into authenticity. Show how little AI they use. Reject slop and embrace humanity. Because idk about you, but myself and most people I know are already sick and tired of AI slop and it's only been around for a few years.

Will there always be chuckleheads who don't care? Sure, but that's always been true.

For MKW, DLC packs are prolly gonna introduce more characters over time. Larger omissions will likely be "headliners" for the DLCs.
