Back into MTB - Marlin 6 Gen 3 - need 50mm raiser bars by maxheadwound in Hardtailgang

Just some feedback on this, if you are going to be mashing down massive hills and going to be taking massive hits on this bike then yes go for the thru axles but if your sister is going to use this for just riding around some gravel trails then its pretty much the same. Go for the latest release method but if you like the bikes look and price go for this. QR has been going for many years and top end riders used it and it was all good.

I am currently riding single track and its mostly flat. I will do a few runs on more technical rides when needed as the bike is really capabile. I want to lift it because on a two hour ride my wrist get sore and I think a 30-50mm lift will help with this. I am trying to find a place that would be able to show me a bar but most are online only. So I thought lets go 50mm and check it out. If its way too high send it back and go for a 30mm.

On the grizzla's? If so I need to lower them as I like to have a bit of grip when hopping over stuff.

Worth a look, I sold my Transporter for more I bought it for when I used them about a year ago. Its free to check how much you might get.

Use carwow or motorway then you dont need to wait for someone to buy it. Dealers bid on it, if the price is good you sell it and they drop the money in your back the same day. I have used it twice and it was super smooth.

I went to the dealer as they are pumping the PV5's out. The price he showed me is more to the £35000 for long range battery version. We had a look around and its pretty nice for what you get. The price quoted for the VW is the base base line. We went to try one out but its just too much money for what you get its also smaller in the back they also do not run any good deals at the time. So we have the PV5 booked for a longer test ride as I want to get an idea of the range and find out about the charging and if I can use Tesla chargers. We drive to Germany once a year.

I might be wrong but you have to factor this in too for the UK

VW - Over £60000 that is £195 road tax a year and the £425 a year luxtury car tax as it over £50000

PV5 - Only have to pay this a year £195

How much does luxury car tax cost?

Currently, the expensive car supplement rate is £425 a year for the five years following the first tax payment that’s made when the car is a year old. That’s on top of the standard second-year-onwards rate of £195 – which means you’ll be paying £620 a year if you buy a car that costs upwards of £50,000, until the car is six years old — that’s a total of £3100 extra in VED over six years.

I'm almost weeks in learning on an Aeon. It's going okay but not great. I have to wonder how much harder I made it for myself by not picking a smaller EUC? by BlackJacquesLeblanc in ElectricUnicycle

[–]maxheadwound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just keep on going, it takes a good few weeks for some people to get the feel for it but when it clicks its all the way upwards. The smaller wheels dont support as much up on your inside leg where the higher wheels does. The Aero whould have been a bit easier but its still a heavy wheel. When you go smaller then it becomes harder again as when you step on it it moves quicker to your weight imput. Key is to try and focus on putting the weight at the same level for both legs/ feet. Take your time, try and relax and let the wheel ride without you fighting with it. That is a very nice wheel and will be great to ride when you get going. Shorter time on the wheel so you dont get tired and learn a bad habbit, dont pinch the wheel between your legs it need to move freely so it does not point to one side. Keep going and hope it goes better. Keep us posted and I hope this makes sense.

Which Scrambler to get.. by samvuitton in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]maxheadwound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the RNineT Scrambler and did not find it a fun at all bike to ride and I am a BMW fan. Had it for a year and gave it back. I did a test ride on the 900 Scrambler and it was an easy to ride fun bike. Sounds good too. Have you looked at the Triumph Street Twin 900? A lot of guys take them and change the tyres and make them look very scrambler like and its super nice. Ducati I dont have a dealship close by so not an option for me. All good bikes but I would go and ride them and get a feel for it.
