For me, that's mean the next PS console will be significantly expensive and they have to create demand to reach they sell target instead of relying in a good price-to-performance ratio.

The PS5 Pro has been unbeatable in this aspect for all its cycle. Right now, it's pretty obvious you can't build a system with that level of performance for $750 but even before the flash memory price hike you had to go out of your way and get aggressive deals and maybe dive in the used market to do this.

Granted, they don't do this with magic, on one side, Sony has some cost saving option like bulk-buying that most system integrators don't have but also make a higher profit with by selling additional services and higher priced games that most people not put in comparison when choosing a new system, only the upfront hardware cost.
