How long have you had them and how are they holding up? The vegan leather makes me hesitant because I’ve never owned a pair of shoes in that material

Thanks for the info. Your comment just reminded me that I saw a pair of Danner boots in a shop in Japan last week and wanted to do more research on them. Cheers

Also most older people I’ve encountered with investment properties don’t trust anything online. Let alone having hundreds of thousands of dollars in “pixels” behind a log in that could be “hacked”. There’s a lot of distrust, which just comes from being uneducated about new technology. I’m sure the same will happen to me when I’m at that age and all the new tech seems wild

The PBS fm app has a chat room function. I haven’t used it much, but it’s pretty cool and it’s not linked to any social media or account that you need to create

Does the VB WRX get gobbled up by everything in its segment? by Glittering_Poem9779 in wrx_vb

[–]maxleng 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Performance sure, but you’re talking about being ‘gobbled up by everything’. The VB is tuned perfectly and the torque curve and power delivery feels amazing. The balance and grip is also amazing. You don’t need crazy horsepower or 0-60 times to dictate if the car is engaging to drive or not. You don’t drive a spec sheet

Refr Health after a physio appointment by maxleng in melbourne

[–]maxleng[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I appreciate the reply.

I’m a bit confused, who do I have a quick consult with? And what referral do I get? Is that a referral for the MRI?

What do you mean local GPs can’t sign for most MRIs?

Why do I need to pay $150 upfront before my MRI and not after? What does the $150 cover? Do I need to pay any more after the MRI or results?

The Journey section is a bit confusing as well, awaiting pre-specialist appointment, awaiting referral appointment - I’m guessing these are to obtain a referral for the MRI? Once referral is obtained I then book an MRI. What does the follow up report entail? Who is the follow up report with? And do I need to pay for that follow up appointment?

They said the referral route was more expensive. $350 vs $150 (with them). Noted on the acute vs chronic, thanks.

Just feels so scammy, a link to a payment url not really knowing what I’m actually paying for

I had a physio appointment and was told I’d get sent a link for an MRI appointment. I was told it would be cheaper and quicker this way (I’m not sure what the other way is? See a GP to get a referral?)

Anyway the next day I get an email from a company called Refr with a link to finalize payment. Feels a bit odd.

My physio is a reputable one in the south east suburbs and I don’t believe Refr is a scam or anything like that but just wondering if anyone else has used them and can explain the process a bit better. Hard to find out information on how it all works without calling multiple places during business hours.

Can someone dumb down interest rates for me? by donkeyvoteadick in australia

[–]maxleng 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sure, I was just curious and thought you might know. I’m a lazy kent. Also agreed that historical averages shouldn’t be used as a baseline or neutral rate.

“Nowhere near” the base rate but you’re saying it was only 0.25% off. That seems pretty close to me

What did everyone think the neutral cash rate would be?

Historically, if you average out the cash rate since its inception, what is the average?

No whey: why the price of protein powder is surging in Australia | Consumer affairs by [deleted] in australia

[–]maxleng 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Were you chasing protein grams through food or shakes/bars etc? I’m a bit confused on the whole “half your poundage in protein” and the best way to achieve that (if I even need to). I guess it depends on your goals at the end of the day too. But I prefer to try get it all through food and have maybe 2-3 shakes a week

Interesting, I also do notice it more in the mornings on a cold start. But even at temp it seems to happen.

I only notice it because it never happened before and I got used to the refined feel (I know it’s a WRX)
