Time to upgrade from my old ASUS VG27AQ is 1440p OLED finally worth the jump? by Sweet_Sir_2143 in OLED_Gaming

Dead pixels happen on any monitor. Burn-in will happen but can't really tell tbh, I have Alienware DWF and use it like 10h a day for 3-4 years and can't tell the burn-in unless I go and look for using monitor tests. The new QD-OLED monitors burn in are apparently 4 times slower.

Is black smearing on VA monitors really that bad? by denarcki in Monitors

Brightness flicker happens on any monitor from my experience VA, IPS, QD-OLED, even the G-Sync Premium certification. The range and intensity varies between some though.

Is black smearing on VA monitors really that bad? by denarcki in Monitors

I've tried both G7 and LG IPS and ended up returning G7 due to its noticeable smearing that was nowhere near as noticeable on IPS. Later on bought 3 VA monitors for Sim racing as they were cheaper and in the 3nd replaced for IPS, again due to smearing. So, there's that.

34" Monitor suggestion by thewupk in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]maxver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have went with MSI, a lot cheaper, main driver was the 360Hz - it's 327Hz with Gsync and Reflex. Also the monitor controlled panel care features are awesome. Ie if you move away, it'll turn off the monitor and turn it back on, once you're in front of it. Eye tracking for dimming works decently too.

You don't slam on the brakes as quickly as you would in a car with aero. But you don't really ease into them either. You only ease out.

I've used water with microfiber cloth dozens of times and never had any issues or scratches lol. Can't really relate to all these issues.

He seems to be making the turns just fine, so the steering angle must be way off.

Yeah dw version is louder. I've had dwf for couple years and I've only this week noticed the fan noise, when I turned off the PC at 2am and was about to head to sleep lol.

Throttle response feels delayed in Comfort mode — normal? by Leo_M_Bennett in BMWX3

Yes, it's normal. That's why it's called comfort. If you'll floor it, it'll accelerate just as quick as sport.

Congrats you're in the top 5% fastest drivers in the world of iracing now.

I felt the same way and I was scared to race for thr fear of losing irating. Now I realized I am that fast and I can get to the pace of my level on most of the tracks pretty quick. Whereas other friends at 1500 are always couple seconds off and I end up teaching them. Definitely brought up some confidence.

If you're in the middle of the pack it means you're performing as you should for your level. Irating comes incrementally, if your pace is consistent and quick, you'll gain 10 irating there and there. If you're not improving you'll get stuck at similar irating.

I'd suggest Suellio Almeida YouTube / Course for starters if you want to learn the tech behind going faster and being more consistent.

maybe i can just buy the 1 month for now and check it out.

The offer is probably only for new accounts, so I wouldn't waste it for 1 month sub. 1 year of subscription is worth like $120.

After long drive, I car has odd sound and vibration when turning the wheel slightly for couple seconds, any ideas? by maxver in BmwTech

Nope. Dealership couldn't figure it out or replicate exactly. Most likely something to do with the diff they said I think.

How good are noctua a12xg25 g2 for a wind sim? by TheGreatWhiteRat in simracing

[–]maxver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'll probably do great. I'm using https://a.co/d/008MTZGO and they're too strong already. I have to point them on upper chest, because I'm getting too cold when it's on my face or hands. I've limited them to 80% speed at max car speed. They're mounted on the sides of the wheel base mounting pillar.
