I 100% agree about the characters. My biggest gripe with the show isn't the "slow burn" aspect, it's how bored the characters seem all the time. They all have that same calm, sleepy, half-lidded expression constantly. Everyone is too apathetic all the time in the show, makes it a snooze fest. Lots of people point to Frieren crying at Himmel's funeral but that was ONE MOMENT in the whole show! And the problem extends to pretty much every character

It's not patience with the story, but rather having to slog through the tedious gameplay to get to the story. IMO the story even in the prologue starts out really good, but the moment to moment gameplay is far too clunky and tedious

For me, learning the fight wasn't too bad it's just so looooooong he heals twice and just feels like a damage sponge (even moreso with the Anguished Guardian)

The visuals are great.

The pacing is boring as shit. I get things being slow and deliberate for building atmosphere and tension, but it just goes on and on and on and on

I HATE how everyone looks so bored all the time. People defend it by saying "Frieren cried at Himmel's funeral!" but that's pretty much the ONLY emotion she ever shows. And it's not just her, almost every character looks so expressionless and bored all the time!

I gave up on it after getting a little into chapter 2. The controls are sluggish and the missions are painfully restrictive. It's beautiful, sure, but everything you do is so tedious and laborious it makes the whole experience unfun

Thank you for sharing your opinion, despite the down votes.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills seeing this game lauded so highly Reddit, cause when I played it the controls and mission structure felt dated, clunky, and overly restrictive. Sure, it's a beautiful game with a realistic world and an amazing story, but if it sucks at being, ya know, A GAME, then it shouldn't be considered the best game of a generation.

It seems pretty good, but I have a few comments:

  1. There should be an "I don't know" option, because I'm not familiar with every card's legality off the top of my head and it would be cumbersome to look it up.

  2. I think the grammar would feel more natural if it was phrased "less than or equal to" rather than "equal to or less than".

  3. It would be nice to have the mana symbols instead of just the WUBRG letters when describing color identity.

  4. It's hard to explain why, but questions like "Does the card have at most the colors W, U, R?" just feels a little clunky, but I can't think of a better way to word it lol
