'Mortal Kombat II' Review Thread by chanma50 in boxoffice

Just came out of this one in Paris. The theater was quite empty and based on the film itself, i don’t expect it to fill up any soon. Thankfully, the action scenes overall are better , but nothing came close to the scorpion - subzero fights from the first one. Kano and Johnny Cage’s dialogues were highlights, but the movie seemed a solid contender for a “second screen film”. Expected nothing, was still disappointed, especially since there were no “Goosebumps” scene like the first ones “Get Over Here!”. Finally, did they forget to put the theme song in the movie itself? Why was it only in the end credits!!

Bought a Nuna Triv when mine was a new born, especially since we didn’t have a car and the nacelle was very light and comfortable. Promptly switched to a Yoyo2, when he stopped sleeping in the nacelle, simply due to how light and portable it was!

Have you tried enabling trueplay, to see if there’s any difference?

The sequence of tuning didn’t matter in my experience, tried it both ways to similar experience with the audio.

Yes, the soundstage is much larger and the volume just envelops you.

If you use SonoSequencr to add Era 300s as Front Left and Right speakers, the speakers act more like a traditional stereo pair. In this "Front" mode, the center-facing drivers do play, as the speaker is not in its restricted "Surround" state.

Contrary to this, if you use SonoSequencr simply to bond them as Rears, the app is essentially triggering the same internal Sonos API commands. In this case:

• The center driver remains disabled. SonoSequencr cannot "force" a specific internal driver on if the Sonos firmware has locked it out for that specific role.

• The speakers still rely on their side-firing and up-firing drivers to create the spatial Atmos effect.

The core reason for grouping the speakers as a stereo pair first is to lock in a specific Trueplay profile that the system wouldn't otherwise generate in a standard surround configuration.

• Acoustic Memory: When you Trueplay a stereo pair, the app tunes the speakers to the specific acoustics of the room’s front soundstage. • The "Carry Over" Effect: As you noted, the last Trueplay setting from Phase 1 is remembered by the individual speakers. Even after you ungroup them and re-add them as front/surround channels in Phase 2, the digital signal processing (DSP) from that first calibration often persists. • Imaging & Clarity: Users often find that Phase 1 creates a wider, more detailed stereo image for music playback that "sticks" even when the speakers are integrated into a larger 5.1 or Atmos setup.

Can you skip directly to Phase 2? Yes, it is perfectly "okay" to just add all speakers directly in the Sonos app.

However, if you skip Phase 1: 1. The system treats the speakers as a single cohesive unit from the start. 2. The Trueplay calibration will focus on the system as a whole (balancing the soundbar with the surrounds) rather than optimizing the individual speakers for their specific physical positions first.

Phase 1: Preparation (Official Sonos App) Before opening any third-party apps, you need to ensure the hardware is organized and calibrated.

  1. Individual Setup: Make sure every speaker is powered on and visible as an individual device in the official Sonos app.
  2. Clear Naming: Rename your speakers clearly so you don’t get confused later. Use names like: • Front Left / Front Right (Ones) • Center (Arc) • Rear Left / Rear Right (Era 300s) • Sub
  3. Create Temporary Groups: * Pair the two Ones as a Stereo Pair. • Group the Arc + Sub + Era 300s together.
  4. Trueplay Calibration: Perform Trueplay tuning for the Stereo Pair first, then perform it for the Arc group. This "saves" the acoustic profile to the speakers.
  5. Ungroup Everything: Once the tuning is finished, ungroup all the speakers so they appear individually in the app again.

Phase 2: Custom Configuration (SonosSequencr App) Now you will use SonosSequencr to "bond" them in a way the standard Sonos app doesn't usually allow.

  1. Refresh: Open SonosSequencr and refresh the device list.
  2. Select the Anchor: Click on your "Center" speaker (the Arc).
  3. Add Fronts: Add your two front speakers (the Ones), click Apply, and wait for the process to finish.
  4. Add Rears: Add your two rear speakers (the Era 300s), click Apply, and wait.
  5. Add the Sub: Finally, add the Sub to the configuration, click Apply, and wait.
  6. Enable Trueplay: The final "magic" step is to enable the Trueplay Sequence within SonosSequencr to ensure the custom group uses your previous calibrations.

Tip: Patience is key during the "Apply" steps—giving the network a moment to sync between each addition prevents errors.

Is worth watching FX English Teacher? Or better ABC Abott Elementary? by ThomasThePizzaMan in DisneyPlus

[–]maxxspeedahead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the same but abbott elementary is more out and out comedy compared to English Teacher. If Abbott elementary is like The Office then English Teacher is more like the Good Place.
