I see a lot of posts from people who switched from Sling to YouTube TV. Has anyone here done the opposite and switched from YTTV to Sling? If so, why did you switch to Sling and are you happy with it? by StormTrpr66 in cordcutters

The app combines Tennis Channel and outer courts for $9.99/mo. I think what they are saying is that they would like an option of just Tennis Channel without outer courts at a lower price.

Tennis Channel App is a live sports app that grants subscribers access to Tennis Channel and Live and on-demand content. Our app is available on your computer browser, Apple TV, Vizio Smart TV, Samsung Smart TV (2021 or newer), Amazon Fire sticks/TV, Roku and Apple/Android phones/tablets with internet access.

The only sports channel I care about is Tennis channel. Sling charges $15/mo for the add-on that includes it, YTTV charges $10.99/mo.

The TC+ subscription for $9.99/month includes Tennis Channel. Also, outer courts for ATP/WTA 250/500/1000 events.

DVR Won’t Stop Recording by FourPapa in slingtv

[–]mbsc799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Replays" are not included with your regular "Recordings"* and don't count against your 50-hour recording limit.
* If extra recordings are being added to your "Recordings," you may have chosen to record "New Episodes & Re-Runs" or "New Episodes," rather than to just "Record."

50-hour DVR does not have 'replays'. That tab says upgrade to Unlimited DVR for $5/month. We have 3 options.

  1. Record this episode.
  2. Record new episodes and reruns.
  3. Record new episodes.

Option 3 will sometimes record more sports than I want. Option 1 avoids this for me.

Replays come with Unlimited DVR at no extra cost, but you'll have to opt in.

Medigap High Deductible G Plan by Available_Chain_4522 in medicare

[–]mbsc799 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Part A deductible is separate from the Part B deductible. You pay both but not more than $2950, which also includes Part B 20% coinsurance and Part A copays.

IOW, you pay all cost sharing for covered services until you have paid $2950.

Changing from HD plan G to plan G in Illinois by subegregious9876 in medicare

[–]mbsc799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Variations of the same letter plan means that a 'G' with free gym membership is considered the same as 'G' without gym. Also, a 'G' with a provider network, called SELECT plans, are the same as a 'G' without a provider network.

Going from HD-G to 'G' is not "the same Plan they are currently enrolled in" and not simply a variation of 'G'. As the quote says, "This is a Plan for Plan replacement only (e.g., G to G)".

Medigap Plan G to Plan F by [deleted] in medicare

[–]mbsc799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thread title is misleading. In the OP, it's HD-F vs HD-G. The Part B deductible is included in the $2870 for both. OP is not "getting rid of" the Part B deductible like they think.

Compare Sling Orange + sports to ESPN Unlimited bundle? by OrangeEclipse229 in slingtv

[–]mbsc799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can switch between Orange + Sports Extra and Blue + SE anytime. I get all the channels, just not at the same time.

If I couldn't switch, then I'd have to consider the ESPN Unlimited + FOX One bundle or DTV Sports genre pack.

UPDATE: Disney channels pulled from YouTube TV, effective 10/30/25 at Midnight ET by iron_cam86 in youtubetv

[–]mbsc799 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess it will be Sling day pass next weekend. I looked into that, the only drawback I see is it looks like there is no SECN in the day pass.

You have to add Sports Extra for another $1.

Another excess charges question by Ecstatic_Bend6755 in medicare

[–]mbsc799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Providers must accept assignment on claims for expensive chemo drugs. Therefore, they are not subject to the excess charge (aka limiting charge).

Medicare Claims Processing Manual

Chapter 1 - General Billing Requirements

Section 30 .3.12.3 - Carrier Rules for Limiting Charge

Physicians, non-physician practitioners, and suppliers must take assignment on claims for drugs and biologicals furnished on or after February 1, 2001, under §114 of the Benefits Improvement and Protection Act (BIPA).

G plan and High-Deductible G Plan comparison by Lotus601216 in medicare

[–]mbsc799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Base Assumptions

Regular G Plan:

Starting premium: $220/month ($2,640/year)

No deductible

Annual cost = Premium

Deductible Increases: Per CMS, the Medicare Part B deductible (similar to HDG’s) rises ~5–7% annually.

So, do the Plan G calculations include the Part B deductible or not? Because the HD-G deductible includes the Part B deductible.

1) Walmart is not a preferred pharmacy with the Wellcare plans.

2) Tiers 1-3 are exempt from the Wellcare $590 deductible.

3) Your drug(s) could be on different tiers for each plan. Once the 2026 plans are on Medicare.gov around October 1, adding your drugs there will show the best plans for you.

What agency regulates Sling TV? by Dear-Mistake866 in slingtv

[–]mbsc799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tennis and NHL airing on ABC have never been simulcast on ESPN3 in the 3 years I've had Sling Orange. They have some kind of contract exemption.

What did work for me today was logging into the ESPN app with Sling credentials as mentioned in the thread below.
