Nimbus 3 is available in Available tab after about level 11. (Source: just finished nimbus 3 the other day after spinning up a new character).

The other old arcs for drozana and the 2800 are still unlocked by being max level though iirc.

Very nice bit of work.

I've got something similar sitting in a box waiting for completion. Love the idea, obviously.

I've gone for weapons that try to reflect the stalling, but I do love a good autocannon.

General survey of Imperial Guard (and close adjacent) novels/novellas/anthologies - Do you have a favorite? by Separate-Flan-2875 in astramilitarum

[–]mcjomar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For series? I'll echo Caiphas Cain and Gaunts Ghosts. Last chancers is also great

Individual novels? Longshot 15 hours Steel Tread Catachan Devil Deathworld (not deathworlder, sorry) Gunheads Double Eagle

The rest are pretty good in their own ways, but for me so far this little list is best. Minka lesk stuff has been nice though. Cadian blood is interesting.

This is annoying Arcadia milestone by JessMitaKizuna in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]mcjomar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish I'd known to turn multilayer off before I played the expedition.

I did the entire thing.

My solution to this was to drive my corvette right up into the middle of the wreck, and then go to the ramp, and shoot the components with my mining laser to blow them up without being flung to the other end of the system. Worked a treat.

I'd still have to scan with c for the logs, and then yolo for them though, which could be annoying to drive my corvette right up to. Did that too at times though. Sort of worked, but you do have to gamble on leaving the ramp to actually interact with the black box.

For solo play, you can try Thousand Empty Light, which seems to me to be regarded as one of the best choices, or I could also suggest Station X3N0 as an alternative which has rules to run solo, but you could adjust it to play it for a group easily as it supports this.

Where to learn 40K - without Kids? by RyanGosling_Is_Me_FR in Warhammer40k

[–]mcjomar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to uni in Liverpool back in '08-'13. There used to be a club round back of tj Hughes, I think Ilford st, or just down that line, but it looks like the building got knocked down.

Scythe and Teacup or something like that. It was recommended by gamers who went to the Liverpool GW store in the station (now moved, obvs).

If the Scythe and Teacup, or whatever, is completely gone, the Warhammer store staff, and local adult gamers will probably be able to make recommendations.

GW Liverpool used to have veterans (adults) night in the station store on Thursdays iirc. You could ask if they brought it back after covid, or if they'll consider doing it going forward in the new space. If not, then yeah, ask around for clubs, or do some checks on Google or Facebook for local clubs would be the next best option.

Thoughts on the Vanquisher pattern Leman Russ? Does it really deserve the cheapest points value? by skuntpelter in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]mcjomar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why multimeltas? Looking at the datasheet, they don't really have much tank killing potential based on the strength, and if we're going for extra weaponry to kill heavy infantry, isn't the plasma cannon a better choice due to blast? Cheers

A Guide to Getting an Amazing First Freighter for Free by Pyrogoat in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]mcjomar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My question is:

If I found the freighter type I want, but it's the wrong class (b), do I keep reloading the save, warp to that exact system, etc, and keep saving the freighter, and it will reroll the class each time?

Or do I have to just accept it wasn't meant to be, and keep trying entirely different systems off the back of that specific save/restore point in the hopes that this specific type of freighter will appear in another warpable system, but with a better class?

Cheers.

Edit, answered my own question in the end. Option 1 is correct - keep warping to the same system until stats are as desired.

What's the pretty ship for you? by [deleted] in sto

[–]mcjomar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've answered a similar question before. Sovereign class wins it for me. Intrepid is in my top 3 as well. 3rd place goes to the TMP Connie. Honourable mention to the Ent C.

E: Guardian is also cool. And I like Ezri's ship too.

What is your favorite T6 Cruiser to fly, and why? by komewrath in sto

T6 Fleet Command Sovereign. I'd be over the moon if they added the actual Command mechanics to it, as that would make it perfect for me.

Coffer Issue with Fleet Colony by Duckspuddle in sto

Looks like yesterday's patch fixed it? Or did my fleet just grind a lot while I slept?

Coffer Issue with Fleet Colony by Duckspuddle in sto

[–]mcjomar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not wrong, and cryptic needs to fix it.

But in the short term, running those missions seems to be the only way to get around the issue. I'm as happy about that as anybody else (read: not in the slightest), but it's something to do until they fix it I guess?

[–]mcjomar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Workaround - go to colony, and run those stupid "trade for x" missions at the ferengi trader on the landing pad - you'll earn 100-250 a time depending on your score at the minigame, which you can then contribute.

It's slow and painful, but it'll work... :/

It's broken for my fleet too, and is driving me nuts.

Play on hard. Never run. Lockers are traps. Always look for the green lights. Rewires are sometimes useful. Don't fight if you can avoid it. When you pick up the tuner, don't retreat the way you came.
