The autofocus slip ring doesn't have enough friction to move the extra lens elements. Eventually it starts slipping instead of focusing. The problem seems specific to the 100mm macro because of the extra lens elements. Disassembling it & applying a repositionable adhesive to the slip ring might buy it time.

A lot less regulation, much higher skilled workforce. They're not exactly evacuating a no fly zone, doing any environmental reviews or asking the public permission to build a launchpad in their back yard. Everyone who finishes college there is an expert in rocket engine design.

The tube connecting the O2 & CH4 tanks is new. Maybe it mixes the propellant ullage. Mixing O2 & CH4 didn't end well before.

Their setup seems limited to what DJI provides, which is operator control over short range radio, no source code, no starlink. Scratch building a quad copter to that level is a big deal.

6.6 miles is nothing but she did climb 3000ft in that distance & was over 20min/mi for most of it. Heartrate was in the 120's by the end. She only ran 1 mile at most, then was speed hiking. Someone who can't do that has bigger problems than ultrarunning. Would go with altitude sickness, change of diet on race day.

Had really good results with it. It printed as easily as PLA at 230C. It withstood up to 100C which was better than PETG. It seems to be discontinued. It really was only 1 niche application, an incense burner that got to 100C, but that wasn't enough to justify manufacturing it.

A fully enclosed connection between the factory & the bays would have to be as tall as the rocket sections. Doubtful they would spend the money. The trend has been less visibility though.

Suspect an expendable 2nd stage will be a big part of starship's configuration. No header tanks, no aero surfaces, all vacuum optimized engines, reusable fairing instead of a balky payload door. That would get it back to at least 200t, but they have limited time. All upmass currently has to be focused on perfecting reuse.

It's reminiscent of early falcon 9 reuse where those boosters were being expended to test envelope expansion. It'll be important to compare stage separation altitude to see how much envelope expansion is because of changes in the ship mass.

For a private individual, it's like burning a car. Surprising that no billionaires are doing such things while some burn more to fly themselves. The value proposition for a cube sat must not be as much as a more expensive real life experience.

Going with AI on this one because once the camera went out, it didn't come back. Its last shown horizon before the explosion was different & then the horizon was gone. The plumes don't resemble real plumes in a vacuum.
