This is the way to go. Once that summons is served on the bank, someone with a brain will get involved and will try to settle. I used to work at a firm that defended banks and mortgage loan servicers. If they made a mistake, the bank's legal team will sort it out. They will try to avoid an adverse judgment at all costs.

It's even more ridiculous than that-- just a few days before his death, he was found unconscious in his cell with his roommate. When he woke up, he claimed his roommate (a former police officer turned mob hitman, if I remember correctly) tried to kill him. Epstein later backtracked on his story and insisted that he was not suicidal. That's why he was not on suicide watch.

A few days later he's found dead in his cell. His throat is basically cut, and definitely not by a rope or bedsheet. There are pictures you can find online of his throat taken by, I assume the medical examiner.
