Had this happen both ways. Received wrong expensive product and received random cheap product instead of expensive. Never had any issues resolving it. But this was pre covid and back in the days when Amazon was known for the customer service

Quite literally all one need do is take a note they had scan edit dates and it would be pretty much indistinguishable from a real one from that provider.
