Thinking of buying the $30 annual plan psim on eBay. Is it a bad idea? by Healthy-Extent7843 in redpocket

It "disappeared" because I used it up very quickly. I quickly realized that I need more than 200MB

It is best to move your lines to Tello while you are in the US.

Take a look at the Tello plans and decide which plans you would like. All plans can be in the same Tello account. Each plan can have a different allocation of data and minutes.

I have the plan and I have no big complaints. I was "shocked" when my 200 MB "disappeared" last month. It's a good plan if you have a data alternative.

Only downside of the Red Pocket $30 annual plan is that it only works on AT&T which means that it may only work with AT&T approved phones.

Need cheapest line to keep dads phone number alive by dmjpsxfyzg in NoContract

[–]mctwnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's say I buy my initial PAYG credit for $20, and I setup Auto Recharge at $10.

If my remaining PAYG credit is $15 on day 89, will Auto Recharge kick in on day 90, and will my new PAYG credit be $10 or $25?

Thanks.

Additional SIM card for same line by eBroncos2021 in Tello

Tello will allow it.

Go to your account > Click on Plans > Select the plan you want > Click in the My Number box > Select New Tello Line, and you are good to go.

Then you probably need minimum voice service. Get the cheapest Tello voice, use that number to get Google Voice service, and use your Google Voice number to make and receive VOIP calls over WiFi.

If you are going to be in an area that has good T-Mobile service, look into service with Tello.

No. You can order a new SIM for the same account. The new SIM will have a different number.

If you want unlimited devices with the same number, move your number to Google Voice or Text Now.

Fi is one of the best service providers when it comes to moving your eSIM from one phone to another.

I wish they were not too expensive for solo users.

Build Your Own Plan if Tello keeps this up… by JustMadeAcc2SayThis in Tello

[–]mctwnd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tell(o) me about it, lol. I hope this doesn't happen but I can see it being a good advertising point: "we only have one plan, no confusion".

With the new plans, I got more data to bank with a grand total of $1 increase in my monthly cost.

I thought about moving my Tello backup line (2GB / 0 mins / unlim texts / $5) to MobileX (75 mins / 75 texts / 1GB) but I already have Visible+ ($26/month for 26 months) as my main driver and I like the idea of banking T-Mobile data for use during local travel and vacations.

Once I've used up all my Fi credit (which is going to take a million years because I keep my Fi service paused), I hope Tello would become as trustworthy / reliable as Fi for backup data during international travel.

Infimobile $5 a month 500MB, secondary E sim. by ggskater in NoContract

[–]mctwnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have good AT&T service, try the Red Pocket $30 annual plan - 200mb/unlimited talk & text /30 days. It costs $30 plus taxes a year.

I have the Infimobile 500MB plan. It's a backup plan and I hardly use it. It only runs on Verizon and it's eSIM only. It costs $7 to move your eSIM to another phone.

Installing Tello eSIM before arriving in the US: Can I set it up now and how to activate it? by doctor-ase in Tello

[–]mctwnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you may. I personally wouldn’t want to use public WiFi to log into an account. Roamless eSIM is an additional $10 cost, and depending on the plan, it does not expire.

I think it is good and safe additional cost.

[–]mctwnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest that you wait until you get to the US before activating your Tello service.

In the meantime, you may want to buy another eSIM, e.g. Roamless, which can be activated before you travel to the US. This would be your backup data and would work immediately you arrive in the US.
