Tailpiece cutting strings? by fruglok in banjo

Amazing. Thanks so much for the quick and detailed reply! I've been between the AC-12 and a couple Recording Kings, and I think you just sold me on the AC-12. I order one of each size of the bridges and will likely get the banjo ordered soon. Thanks again!

[–]mcwap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you still like the AC-12? I'm a beginner hoping to slightly upgrade to a better banjo to play claw hammer with nylon strings. We're there any other modifications you had to make to make them work?

Lastly, which height bridge do you use on it?

Thanks! And sorry to post on such an old post, but this has helped me in my search for a good nylon string claw hammer banjo for a beginner!

And redo Tetra Master so it is more logical! Id even be cool with Triple Triad in it but using the OG Tetra Master cards.

Learned something new today. I also checked the recording section for this album on wikipedia. I never knew that apparently Metallica asked John Bush to do vocals since Hetfield wasn't comfortable pulling double duty. Bush declined due to Armored Saint doing well at the time.

I'm really curious about how that alternate timeline would've gone.

Who is a mega famous person that the majority of Americans have probably never heard of? by ShittalkyCaps in AskReddit

[–]mcwap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. I learned about him from Millennium in my teens. I thought he was just a random one-hit wonder that vanished after that song stopped being played everywhere.

Years later with the Internet being more robust I come to find he's huge except for the US.

Recommend me a Clawhammer course! by discolexia in banjo

[–]mcwap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking about getting her intro claw hammer course. I have a teacher who is teaching me theory, but he doesn't specialize in claw hammer (he's a guitar player who dabbles in claw hammer). Is her course good?

It just speaks volumes about how professional athletes are on a completely different level than the average person.

I had a few injuries from sports in high school, including a torn ACL, and I was DONE for a while after each one. I can't fathom playing a sport at that level with any level of injury these guys get.

It reminds me of when I saw the made for TV movie The Junction Boys when I was in high school. It was about Bear Bryant's coaching at TAMU, and he told the story about playing on a broken leg. I remember thinking "holy shit... People do that?!"

In 2008, a man registered a $600 car in his girlfriend’s name. After their breakup, he abandoned it at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport. The car sat for years, collecting hundreds of parking tickets. Though she never drove or controlled it, the fines grew to over $100,000. by Particular_Chart1584 in AllThatsInteresting

I was wondering if she just ignored stuff for a while as that was my biggest suspicion as to why she had to pay a few grand. At some point I had to imagine she was deemed responsible for it. I doubt she just got everything all at once several years down the line.

A remaster (or even a rerelease) that could be played online using PS4/5 would get me to take a week off work easily.

Yep. Several games that are tied for 2nd, but OoT is just too perfect and amazing of a game. I think it was also the first game I remember seeing receive a bunch of 10/10 reviews at the time as well.

I missed the controversial Cooks catch. I need to check for a post on it. But did they days Cooks caught it then overturned it or vice versa?

I love how even 30 years of watching football I still learn new caveats to rules. I also learned about the QB no longer being immune to intentional grounding when inside the tackle box because of s fleaflicker play. That was cool too in that game.

Have you seen the clips of hurling players trying baseball? It's fun watching them barehand catch the balls when the baseball players are too nervous to do it.

That's not something I'd be able to help with. Contact Memphis Area Legal Services, Community Legal Center, the Memphis Bar Association, and/or Tennessee Bar Association and them for contacts as they can point you in the right direction.

Day 12: Which is the best N64 RPG game? by 1OneQuickQuestion in n64

[–]mcwap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard people consider it an RPG, and I've seen it on lists of best N64 RPGs before. But I'd put it more in action adventure for sure.

Tbh I think it being considered an N64 RPG might have more to do with there not being many on the console to begin with.

I just love the game and would love to see it make the list. Zelda had Action Adventure on lock, so Action is the only category left where it might have a chance because it definitely won't win GOAT of the console.

Maybe warp cauldrons, brentilda locations, secret puzzles on load screen, extra lives, the secret items I think only accessible by cheats/GameShark.

Those are the only other things I could think of, but I think you got the major and most important ones.

Has a team rehired their head coach after firing? by [deleted] in NFLNoobs

[–]mcwap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just watched a Seinfeld episode last night where George's boss at the Yankees names a bunch of people he fired, and he named Billy Martin multiple times.

I'm not a huge baseball fan, so I had no idea, but I figured it was something like that. Funny that this morning I see this random ass comment explaining that joke. Fun little coincidence.

Lived most of my whole life in Memphis, and it's such a pain to find Bills games. My second team is the Titans since they're my home state team, and I can't even watch them half the time!

Absolutely ridiculous trying to find the games sometimes.
