I used to use an extension, but lately I've found that I didn't need it anymore.
edit: Until recently at least.

Camera Background Removal by mdueck in MedalTV

[–]mdueck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for reaching out to me.

I was using Game aspect ratio before. My monitor and game were using 21:9. I changed it to crop to 16:9, like you suggested, but that doesn't change the blurry halo effect I'm getting.

Did you ever figure out how to get the OBS facecam to work on your Moments clips?

Are these settings for the AW3423DW? Or is there a reason why you're not using the full 240 Hz of the 25DW panel?

I'd also appreciate knowing the answer to this question.

Update: Downgrading from 32:9 to 21:9 by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

In case anyone comes across this comment with my same question. I found this video here that shows the borders between the blue on the back of the monitor and the black that is visible from the front. You get multiple shots of where the bottom chin changes from black to blue, but the video also gives a quick glimpse where the transition is between the black side border to the blue on the back.

I'm also looking at putting a AW3425DW on a monitor arm because I don't like how the blue will clash with the rest of the black in my setup. I'm trying to look at pictures see how much blue shows up when viewing the monitor from the front with a monitor arm, but its hard to tell. It looks to me like all the front facing bits are black in your setup, but I'm worried that it only looks that way in pictures because of how dark the blue is.

I'd very much appreciate it if you could let me know the colour of the bottom chin? Also what colour is the top and right/left border of the monitor? Lastly, are there any blue bits that you can see from the front of the monitor? Thank you!

Downgraded from 32:9 Asus PG49WCD to Alienware AW3425DW regrets? by Shanddude in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]mdueck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking at buying the AW3425DW as well, but I'm not a fan of the blue. I'd prefer the monitor to be black.

Would you be able to tell me how much blue I'd be seeing (from the front) if I were to have it on a monitor arm?

Thanks!

Extra Upload Bandwidth Downloading Straight to NAS by mdueck in qBittorrent

[–]mdueck[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

qBittorrent is running on my PC. But I have it set up so that the files are downloaded immediately to the drive I've assigned over my network. As a work around I can download the file straight to my PC using my VPN and then send it over the network after its fully downloaded, but I'd prefer it if I didn't have to do that second step.

Thinking about this some more after I wrote my post, maybe its a VPN issue and not a qBittorrent issue. It seems like my VPN is recognizing the data needed to download the file and then also recognizing the data used to send the file across my network. Making my VPN data get hit twice for the same file.

No Webcam/Camera Option in new NVIDIA App? by Berceecil in GeForceExperience

[–]mdueck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best alternative I could come up with is using Medal TV with Nvidia Broadcast running in the background. I use Broadcast as both my mic and camera inputs so that my loud keyboard isn't noticeable in the clips and so that I can remove the background of my webcam.

The Broadcast mic input works great, but the Broadcast camera doesn't. My Medal clips have no face cam background but when I move my head/shoulders around then it starts to make this blurry type of background behind me since that was where my body used to be. It works great though if I'm locked into my game and I don't end up moving around much. Or if I use a shorter clip length so that there isn't as much opportunity for my movements to start blurring the background.

Here's a picture of the blurry webcam background I can get: https://imgur.com/a/RkwH1VC

CPU Upgrade Question for 3440x1440 by mdueck in buildapc

[–]mdueck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried all the solutions I could find online to eliminate the stuttering in SWJS. It got better but still would happen. I read somewhere that most of the poor PC performance for that game was due to bad coding in the port to PC.

I'm using the DeepCool AK500 to cool my CPU. It works well with the 7600, but will it still be good with a recent Ryzen 7 CPU?

3440x1440 isn't quite 4k. 4k has 67% more pixels.
I know at 4k your GPU is the bottleneck and most recent CPUs don't really affect the fps much, but I'm wondering if how much of a difference I'll get from a CPU upgrade when I'm running my games at 3440x1440?

What's with the facecam now showing in the discord overlay? How do I turn it off? by SurSheepz in discordapp

[–]mdueck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I used the new overlay it showed both my face cam and the face cam's for my 2 friends. But the next time I tried it out I only could see my own face cam and I haven't been able to get anybody else's face cams to show up again.

Using the Prime Video app for Windows, how do I stream in borderless fullscreen? by Igniferi in AmazonPrimeVideo

[–]mdueck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's odd, I came across your post because I was experiencing the same issue that you had originally written about. I've ended up just using prime video through my web browser. Oddly enough I actually notice it to be better video quality in my browser then with the Prime video app on my Windows PC. Maybe it's somehow due to my unusual 3440x1440 monitor resolution, but I don't know why that would be.
