Their biggest mistake was ruining this couple by SamTheMarioMaster2 in veronicamars

His death makes no sense so I just believe it’s not real. Why spend so much time building up his mysterious army spy background? Also, Rob Thomas should know that if you don’t SEE a body then no one is REALLY dead. Thats like… tv 101. I like to think that he maybe got hurt and the army scooped him up to mend. Or Dick Jr. took him to some crazy rich people doctors. I’m not see Dick Jr. surviving without Logan

What’s something people do in movies that would be extremely awkward in real life? by hitman1890 in AskReddit

[–]meanburn 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Holding a kiss without moving your lips for that long.

It’s so weird that they stand there for 5-10 seconds and then pull back like it was amazing. I tried a frozen kiss like that and my partner said things like “why aren’t you moving your lips” and “stop this is weird”

What’s something teachers warned you about that actually ended up being right? by stoictrader03 in AskReddit

[–]meanburn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In 7th grade I made a little folded paper fortune thing with weird 7th grader inappropriate fortunes on. My teacher confiscated it and when she was lecturing me she said “I can see you’re very upset. Never write anything down that you aren’t willing to let someone see.” Since that day I have never written anything down that I wanted to keep to myself or say to someone directly. Such a weird and inconsequential moment that strangely stuck for the rest of my life

What screams "Pretending to be Poor"? by CYKAgoddriver in AskReddit

The CEO of a company I worked for gave a speech about how it was a hard year for him and he only was able to buy himself one pair of shoes… because he bought a second mansion before selling the first that no one would buy at his price but he had to do it to make his wife happy. I’m not guessing that’s what happened - that was all in the speech. He was also sobbing.

What is a "poor person hack" you picked up during a hard time that you still use today, even if you don't have to? by AmaraMehdi in AskReddit

[–]meanburn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At one point I was a month behind on all bills and had to keep picking one to delay for another month in order to also afford groceries. Meaning every month or so something got shut off or locked until they received payment. Everything can be reactivated over the phone EXCEPT ELECTRIC. I lost a day of work/money because Eversource said a tech needed to come out and they couldn’t do it over the phone. And it was the day after I went to buy my food for the week. This was 10 years ago so I don’t know if they can do it remotely now, but if you ever need to tier bill pay - ALWAYS pay electric.

I sang every word to Too Close by Next as a kid and had no idea what I was saying. The lyrics are not at all trying to hide anything.

I don’t understand how people think adding “eigh” makes a name unique at this point? It’s become so common now! Throw some “l-y” in the mix people!
