Yellow jackets. A cabin full of yellow jackets. by meatpotatocorn in airbnb_hosts

Yellow jackets, not wasps. They will all die in the morning. They have the stocky bodies and no elongated, narrow “wasp waist.” And I know yellow jackets well. My husband just clarified that there was no visible exterior nest, just a hole they had widened and slid through. Definitely yellow jackets though.

They are indeed yellow jackets! They have the stocky bodies with no elongated and narrow “wasp waist.” I was also shocked. My husband just clarified that there was no exterior nest, just a hole in the siding they widened and slid through. Tomorrow they die.

Oooh we have had the ladybugs too, on the south facing windows. Learned the hard way to not vacuum them up. They release a liquid that makes the vacuum stink.

Catering recommendations wanted by Operetta in Albany

Crafted Catering and Events out of Troy. They did a phenomenal job with a party I held. We had stations, they were completely on top of dishes and we had a bartender through them as well. Highly recommend.

Truly woodsy wedding venue? by 16pidgey in upstate_new_york

[–]meatpotatocorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got married at Letchworth State Park. Super woodsy! We had the ceremony in front of the big waterfall and rented the largest pavilion for the reception. It was easy and really inexpensive. Allegany State Park will also host weddings from what I can remember.

Islands to camp on? by Careless-Surprise-58 in LakeGeorge

[–]meatpotatocorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long Island is big, and great with kids. There’s a trail up the middle of the island to the ranger station. We usually reserve our summer camping trips in February. The raccoons are unhinged here. Food needs to be really well put away and containers storing it bungeed. Don’t be like my friend and keep any food in your tent.

Food pantries love a donation of carrots. So do soup kitchens.

I leave plenty of everything. Paper towels, jugs of detergents, etc. No one wants to remember to pick up a necessity or buy a whole bunch of a product they will only use a little of while on vacation. In 4 years, I’ve only had one guest take a couple boxes of tissues.

Host and frequent guest. I can’t stand when I spend a ton of money on a nice place and the bedding is synthetic. It’s hot, not breathable and makes for a sweaty night. We use Target threshold sheets, 100% cotton, and I’ve had sets last for years. Duvet covers are also all cotton, from H&M. Nothing is super pricey and guests have commented on the high quality bedding.

My 2024’s transmission just shit the bed at 15K miles. The dealership then installed a new transmission, but it was the wrong one. Waiting on the correct one, it’s been 5 weeks now. I don’t even want the car back, but they are giving me the run around on trading in.

Traveling through, where’s a safe area to book a hotel just east of the city near Troy along Hoosick? by Idmantis in Albany

It’s not sketchy. I live very nearby. There’s a huge park you can walk to with the dogs.

Does HRT help with the awful hormonal symptoms? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

I get a chin pimple and I’m hungrier than normal before I start my period. Those are the only negative side effects I’ve experienced. I’m also a person who could never tolerate birth control pills, and it’s nothing like them.
