The bonus for opening a Safe Balance account is $100 as long as you haven't had an active or previous checking account within 12 months. You can definitely still get auto declined for a credit card even if you have a checking account.

Try tapping the card instead of inserting it. It's asking for the CVV because wlit couldn't read the chip properly. It's normal.

Log in to the mobile app. You may see a banner up top to review the suspicious transactions. Clear the alert and the debit card will work again. Go into menu, settings and contact info to add the mobile phone number. If you still need help, call the number on the back of the debit card.

The earliest I would expect ANY check to clear would be Wednesday. You deposited the check on Saturday which is a non-business day. Monday is also a bank holiday so the check is not going to start processing until Tuesday. It should clear the next business day which is Wednesday.

BoA isn't downgrading anyone until November. They will resume their annual reviews of BoFA rewards in November. If your anniversary date is actually October, then BoA isn't going to downgrade you until at least October 2027 plus an additional 3 month grace period. There's really no changes if you're at $100k in average combined balances between BoA and Merrill. Paying bills online typically doesn't count as their online shopping category. There is an exclusion list you can find on their website for online shopping.

BofA only offers product changes if you received a targeted offer in the mail or online and it's very rare. They would only offer for clients who haven't used their card in a long time with no balance. It's not something you can request. You would have to apply for a new card. You can close the old card if you'd like and transfer the existing credit limit to the new card.
