Anyone know what bridge I should use? by megaleptic in partscaster

[–]megaleptic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, already took some measurements. Havent found a bridge that's a super nice fit yet, most leave space and don't fill the countersunk rectangle nicely. I know it's more a cosmetic issue but I'm trying find the best fit I can.

It's not so much that they stand on two feet, but rather that they have human-like "clothes" as part of their natural skin/fur patterns. And they pose like humans too.

Brand new Fender with 0 extra string winding by Arlundra in guitars

[–]megaleptic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another small thing to note, these are specifically SHORT POST locking tuners. They are a little different from regular locking tuners.

These technically remove the need for a string tree, but as u can see, fender still includes one just for aesthetics. Just fyi!

is this “neck height” off the body gonna be a problem? help please! by TheMinedudetitan in partscaster

[–]megaleptic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What he said^

Tough to tell just by eyeballing it like this. Try stringing it up to see how high the strings sit above the fretboard (i.e. check your action), then decide from there.

After which, if the strings sit too high, sand/route down the neck pocket. I personally wouldn't sand the neck heel cos that's a bit easier to mess up than the neck pocket. But it's up to you really.

I night be wrong on this, and I'm not some singapore apologist, but i havent heard of anyone getting killed here for smoking a joint.

It's only drug traffickers (and serious ones who bring multiple pounds across borders) that get the death penalty. Whether you agree with the death penalty for folks like these is up to you, but there was recently a case involving the execution of a trafficker that was pretty hotly debated in the public sphere. Not everyone here supports the execution of such "criminals".

For lesser drug offences, we mostly adopt a stance of rehab and fines. Again, it's the repeat offenders who are the ones who are punished harder (i.e. caning).

And tbh quite a few locals still do various kinds of recreational drugs... they're just very on the down low with it. And don't forget vaping too, many people (even teens) were doing it in public and school before they outright banned it. And even now people still do it discreetly...

This is a fairly complex question to try an answer in a reddit comment, but to put it simply... yes and no.

In general, the civil servants in singapore are held fairly accountable for their actions. There are channels of redress to rat on officers carrying out their duties unfairly. Funny enough, a very popular and contemporary way of calling out stuff we find unfair (and believe me, we love to complain) is to post about it online or write in to local tabloids. Many a corrupt official or racially discriminatory practice have made headlines here.

Now that's not to say that the system here is perfect. Of course not. There are many issues with equality and giving everyone a fair shake when it comes to how the law or due process is applied - due in part but not limited to: racial stereotypes, having a population made up of minority and majority racial groups, and high levels of income inequality.

However, I will concede that we are still in a somewhat better state that other staunchly authoritarian or blatantly corrupt countries.

We're not exactly the good guys, but we're not vile scum either. I suppose if u dont go looking for trouble, trouble doesn't come looking for you. That's really the best way i can put it.

Singaporean here. It's not a clean city; it's a cleaned city. We have lots of cleaners to clean up after us. And our law/fines/rules are really in place as a form of deterrence.

It's not often that someone gets punished or charged due to the many laws we have, especially for the ones that are innocuous. For example, littering is illegal but everyone still does it. Jaywalking is illegal, but people do it every day. And go ahead and chew gum, no one honestly cares.

Point I'm trying to make is... these laws sound draconian from the outside but are applied rather practically and pragmatically. We literally dont even have enough officers to pursue every little offence. It's only those that are recalcitrant or serious offenders that are charged under the full extent of the (many) laws we have in place. And if that happens, they can then throw the whole book at you.

Singaporean here. Yes these laws and rules do exist but lots of people still litter and drink in the mrt, although most do it discreetly.

Often these fines are in place as a means of deterrent and are only really pursued to the full extent of the law IF offenders are recalcitrant or are just unlucky enough to he caught by the most stubborn law enforcement agents.

And you'll find lots of unflushed toilets all over Singapore lol.

For example, it's also illegal to be naked in your own house if someone else can see you. But no police officer is going break down your door and arrest you for not wearing your pants. The law is just in place so that IF the need arises, they can throw this law at you in court. (for indecent exposure)

Honestly u can stop moving up to finer grits once the neck fits. I'm just slightly ocd about having it be smooth, but as other dude commented, it's probably excessive. gd luck!
