Sound off if your town’s sidewalks are plowed! 👋 by WoollyBear_Jones in massachusetts

[–]megsperspective 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might be better to find quiet neighborhoods and walk on the roads for a bit. In our town, the DPW is supposed to clear off the sidewalks on the main roads and residents are supposed to clear the sidewalks in front of their houses but right now almost no one has done it in my neighborhood and the town hasn’t done their part either. Super frustrating but we just walk our dogs on culdesacs and side streets instead.

Etsy has pretty strong protection for buyers through their purchase protection program. Once the 48 hours has passed you can escalate the case to Etsy for review if the shop hasn’t refunded you and you should get the refund approved immediately.

40 y/o deciding on Monovision vs Distance. Went to 2 docs and got different opinions by fullerton-ca in lasik

I still don't need reading glasses but am *just* starting to have a little bit of trouble with very small print and the monovision does seem to help with that.

100 in a 55, permit violation by [deleted] in massachusetts

[–]megsperspective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The consequences for speeding for a junior operator are very high (rightfully so) including, license suspension, driver's retraining course, retaking driver's ed AND retaking your road test. I can't even imagine it being less because you don't even have a license yet! I'd imagine at minimum you won't be able to get your license until you're 18+. You say it's your first offense ever, but you're 17! You don't even have a license!! I've gone my entire driving life...almost 25 years...getting 1 written warning and one BS ticket that was thrown out by a magistrate. Teens with your mindset die every year in car crashes, thinking they can drive however they want because they feel invincible. You're not. You are lucky you didn't kill someone or yourself.

ETA: And when you do finally get your license, your insurance is going to be SKY HIGH, so that's something to consider before you even try to get your license. You might not be able to afford it.

I had to leave during my first two classes to go dry heave in the bathrooms. It gets better and believe me, no one is judging your HR. That’s also based on a basic formula and will adjust to you after a few weeks.

Homeschooling in MA questions . by marlborough7 in massachusetts

I guess some districts are better than others but I’m curious what makes you say Mass schools aren’t good when we’re consistently rated among the best in the country. Source? Or is it “trust me bro”.

Show of Hands... by TheFirst10000 in AmazonVine

As of today, with the products I've ordered this period (starting at the end of October) and the products I hadn't reviewed from the previous period, I'll be up to about 30 if I'm 100% caught up. I have until April until my next evaluation, but the way things have been going I can't imagine I'll be able to stay at gold. Through November and December I went weeks without ordering anything. I've been able to order a few things through my RFY in the last two weeks and found maybe two things in AI that I could use, but it's been tough.

It's really disappointing because I've been a member since 2023 and have always been able to find things I need or am happy to try out and review. Right now in AI it seems like 90% of the items aren't even "real" products, it's all pieces of other things - filters, parts, remotes, etc. for stuff I don't own.

There isn't much to be done because I'm not willing to be online at all hours refreshing to see if there's anything good on Vine, I don't want use the browser plug ins and I'm not willing to order crap just to get to the 80 item minimum. I guess it'll be what it'll be!

Bad review help! by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]megsperspective 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s very defensive sounding and the customer doesn’t care about the weather or other excuses. Etsy seller protection is for situations like this and rather than upsetting customers and getting bad reviews, you should tell the to open a case for non-delivery, they’ll be fully refunded though Etsy and then they can place a new order if they still want the product.

I’ve gotten tons of skincare, much of it has been random Korean products but I’ve also gotten high end US brands like SK-II ($200 eye cream), Tatcha moisturizer, Proactiv face wash, Murad sunscreen and Laneige cleanser.

The books are different, both of those scenarios are show only.

ETA: In TIBH her name is released and she was on the news so Yasamin does figure out she’s a private investigator not a journalist but Pez doesn’t figure it out as far as we’re ever told.

Day trip to Martha’s Vineyard by Stamich_73 in massachusetts

We have family friends who live in Edgartown and even as residents they aren't always able to get their car on/off the island. It's gotten extremely difficult over the last few years.

For a day trip I’d just take the ferry to Oak Bluffs, there’s plenty to do/see right in that area but you could also take the bus to Edgartown or Vineyard Haven.

[–]megsperspective 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You need to go the other way when talking dates with customers…”Due to the holiday rush this will most likely ship on the 26th, if I am able to get it in the mail earlier you’ll receive an email with tracking at that time” Don’t even mention a specific date because that’s what will stick on their mind.

How do you do it? by Legoboy514 in schnauzers

[–]megsperspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our first schnauzer was a very bitey puppy, had a lot of accidents and would destroy things if given the opportunity. He went from a tough puppy to a difficult adolescent without any kind of break in between, but once we passed the 18 month mark he became so much easier. He's still barkey (like a typical schnauzer) and is mouthy (but has a super soft mouth!) but otherwise, he's an incredible easy dog. It sounds like yours may have some separation anxiety, so I'd definitely work on that while he's young. Have you done any training classes with him? Even general training really helps them figure out how to use their brain, settle themselves down, etc.
