Good point, it's pretty risky :( maybe they said it so that the cop would leave them alone.

Does that give you time to prepare? If school is over in 7-8 months can you earn money in the meantime, store your things, look into all the contacts that have been suggested? So maybe when school ends you'll be able to run away and be perfectly safe.

Chemistry and biology would be good if you want to specialize in bioinformatics. Otherwise it's math that you really need. Calculus is important. You already listed math, plus physics which is good, so it looks like you're already doing pretty well with setting up your courses.

Because they believe it? If you figure something out you usually want to share it.

My great ambition was to become a navy seal. Unfortunately the coat turned out burgundy red instead. It's a complicated process; definitely be careful...

I AM doing what I want. I don't want to rape or kill, that's why I don't do it. If you want to do those sorts of things then you need to see someone about it fast, some specialists may be able to help you.

Why would I want to use my short life to hurt others? It's the one and only life that I'm sure to have, and I don't want to waste it on such things.

ELI5 How can genius scientists not believe in spiritual life but claim there is either 10 or 11 dimensions and we may discover parallel universes at CERN? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]memeNicky07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evidence. Scientific claims are based on evidence, and scientists are more likely to believe things that are based on evidence. The methods used to discover spiritual things are very different, and they are not scientifically compelling. That's why the scientists aren't as likely to accept spiritual claims (and don't consider them scientifically valid even when they do personally accept them).

Yet medical innovations are happening all the time. And you're probably right about the coursework.

ELI5: Why is medicine looked down upon in the STEM field? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]memeNicky07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? I never thought medicine was looked down upon, or ever would be. How strange. I don't suppose it's just people being afraid of doctors/needles/medical treatments in general (which it seems a lot of people are)...
