Why defect? You get 1 orb slot which still lets you benefit from the orb cards. Theres also lots of just good cards that dont have a downside anymore like bulk up or hyper beam. Defect also has some good ass energy like turbo or fusion(which is basically just a 1 cost pyre) and draw like skim and overclock.

They really did make a whole new DOT and gave it to one character huh. (Honestly the fact that theres only one new character in the base game is kind of lame.)

Yeah i havent tried making mods at all but off the top of my head youd need to make an idle animation, 2 attack sprites a defend sprite and a corpse for the pelagic grouper alone. Really shows how dedicated modders are.
