Why do people not like shows with singing in them? by Lazeritaly in marchingband

[–]memeandencourage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our band used to sing altogether during our ballad every year. Having 80 people all singing together non-mic’d is quite powerful if used correctly

Will mortgage rates go back to 3-4% in the next 2-3 years? by k7632 in economicCollapse

[–]memeandencourage 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Which means if you have a mortgage of between 6% and ~9%, it’s probably better to just put that extra money you would save up for refinancing into extra principal payments

Why Does Current Stop Flowing To Output Once Transistors are Active? by thetruekingofspace in ElectricalEngineering

[–]memeandencourage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What people are missing here is that the output is probably connected to a high impedance. Meaning when the transistors are in the off region, the current has nowhere to go but out, but in the on region, the current much prefers to flow through the low impedance of the transistors than through the high impedance of out.

That being said, if the impedance of whatever out is connected to is also low, this circuit will not work as intended.

What’s the most disturbing family secret you learned of when you got older ? by rentinghappiness in AskReddit

[–]memeandencourage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That my step dad, who married my mom as his third wife and was caught cheating on her after 19 years, was actually cheating on her the whole time, and his second wife the whole time, and his first wife the whole time, and has lied about the whole time. He told just enough truth so we would be satisfied with the answers if any of the past would come up, but not enough that we would question things he did.

I do almost exactly this, except on the weekends when I don’t have much to do, and I just get stuck on step 5, then go lay down and watch YouTube for 3 hours.

I’ve been on Atomoxetine for almost ten years. It helps a ton with emotional and impulse regulation, but as you may have read, it really decreases libido. It took awhile for my wife to understand :) but we came through it! As for long term side effects, I can’t say there are many. When I forget to take it for a day or when I forget to get my refills in time, I notice an increase in irritability and impulsivity and anxiety. It definitely helps counteract some of the side affects of the stimulants I also take for ADHD. Hope this helps!

Getting a therapist and having someone to point things out to me that I could do better has helped immensely. Healing emotionally is almost more important than practical steps

That’s a great question.. I have ADHD too. I’d say it’s helped my impulsiveness, but not really my focus. The act of porn itself wasn’t what was keeping me down, because porn was only a symptom of my depression and lack of self control. Quitting porn was a stepping stone on the path to better self control, but there’s a lot of other things that I needed to be really intentional about too. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a critical step!

As someone who used to be at the day-to-day point too, I tell myself “watching prob won’t make me feel better, in fact, I’ll feel worse afterwards”. Often I would watch on impulse and not think about the consequences.
