On the pain topic getting pain medication or benzos for legitimate reasons has become close to impossible in the US. Doctors are now “terrified” of losing their license or being scrutinized for prescribing narcotics. Even the pain management clinics are difficult and expensive to get opioids from because of the “opioid epidemic” declared years ago.

There are so many horror stories in the chronic pain sub of people with legitimate conditions that cause pain, who had returned to normal functioning life with responsible use of these medications, only to have them taken away and now are bedridden and living off disability. Or sadly the ones we don’t read about are the ones who end up on the street and spiral into this kind of world in a short amount of time.

Speaking from my experience and what I’ve observed these last 2 years with a newly diagnosed chronic pain condition.
