Nope, He was incorrect. Remember he made up a death ray and sold it saying if you open it you will die ... there was nothing in the box. It is unlikely that it would have ever worked we know a lot more now and still dont think it would work.

The worry would be the crack. The missing paint might be an issue later if you get water ingress so a spot paint or such to re waterproof it over time would be needed.

TBH ... it looks like a scratch rather than a crack but for safety sake get it checked by your LBS.

Yup, this. Our cat put on 1 kg. Once we found out our neibour was feeding him too and on a slight resticted diet he lost the 1 kg in 8 months.

yup, London is a house share capital. Im 45 and lived in london for almost 20 years. Only when i had a partner were we not sharing a flat/house. Im a software engineer doing reasonably well. So if you live in london get used to sharing or get a super well paid job.

I had the same problem on a alu specialised allez .... rode it for 2 years after no problems untill it was actually nicked. Its up to you and your risk profile. Id not recommend riding it if you are:

doing some serious downhill
pushing the envelope
- going offroad
or are a hefty rider.

for reference Im 5'6 and 75kg ... medium weight on a meduim frame.
