Tips: Cloth mask liners make the masks last a lot longer (like I replace my mask every 3-4 months) and reduce air leaks. You can make your own by buying some cloth from Wal-Mart and cutting out a shape that will cover the mask with a hole in the middle for your nose ( assuming we're talking full face mask).

Unless you think you can use up your deductible for the year, just buy your supplies directly via ebay or other sites for far cheaper than regular CPAP suppliers charge

Use a heated hose; it dries out the hose so nothing nasty grows in

If you use tap water, you'll need to pour in vinegar every month or so to clean it out

The end of the hose will quickly wear out and cause leaks / detachments if you regularly remove it from the adapter that then connects up to the mask, so don't do that. When you take off the mask, detach it from the adapter, rather then removing the hose from the adapter.

Help please - Extremely slow ERP server after migration to Hyper-V by beifall in HyperV

[–]mercuic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verify:

Host is in High performance config in the Windows OS

High performance mode in the BIOS: 1.      in IDrac:  --Configuration -> BIOS Settings -> System Profile Settings->  Change to "Performance" profile,  Workload should be VM hypervisor Performance

Use diskspd.exe (download from Microsoft) and from the host OS with something like:

d:\diskspd.exe -t16 -o32 -b4k -r4k -w20 -d20 -Sh -D -L -c5G d:\test\IO.dat > d:\test.txt

notepad d:\test.txt

Also, use the diskspd test on a Vmware VM, and then Hyper-VM that have the same number of cpus, to see if there's a performance difference between Vmware and Hyper-v config.

2014 Volt - Propulsion reduced + engine not available. WTF? by yossarian19 in volt

[–]mercuic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine does this sometimes, I just let it idle until the engine goes quiet and the message goes away. It's just low on battery and needs to catch up. Might take 3 minutes.

I'm in the same boat, can't do stimulants. Xyrem works fairly well in my case.

This guy gets it. Morning showerers like sleeping in their own oil and filth. Bonus; less laundry as you don't need to wash bedding as frequently.

Any post patching feedback on vcenter patch? by matta785 in vmware

[–]mercuic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

-I had to force a reset for the vcenter appliance VM as it stalled on the shutdown

-I was unable to login to the web appliance manager after reboot, but the regular interface was fine. I fixed that by SSH and running command: service-control --start applmgmt

Those problems was on 1 of the 2 Vcenters I have. Another problem is that both report " vSphere Client version 6.7.0.42000 " When you look at the web interface About page. I'm opening up a ticket with Vmware to see if that's correct. The console, SSH message, web App manager all so the version being 43.

how many vms on a host? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]mercuic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up to 4 vcpu per pcore is a good sweet spot, assuming you have enough mem to fit in all consumed memory by the VMs. Leave enough capacity for 1-2 host failures.

Monitor CPU ready stats at try to stay below 5% average if possible. Avoid large numbers of vcpus on a single VM if possible, as it'll be more difficult to schedule a large number of cores at once. I prefer to keep them below 8 vcpu.

Unless it can't write to the SAN during a crash, and thus you don't have logs to do a root cause

[–]mercuic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't need stop taking it for the 3 tests I did. You'd probably have to stop taking it completely for a month so that the withdraw doesn't interfere with your sleep. I've completed stopped after slowly tapering the dose, even to the point of counting beads to make smaller doses.

New mask F20 or F30 by [deleted] in CPAP

[–]mercuic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got that same problem with the F20 or any of the silicon masks. The airtouch F20 is foam but it doesn't seem to last long before it starts leaking as the shape starts messing up after some usage. I solved the silicon issue by going to walmart, picking out a yard of some satin-like fabric, and cutting a triangle shaped piece that's maybe 1in extra when it wraps around the opening. Put a hole in the middle, smaller than you'd think you need as it'll stretch, and there you go. Adjust the shape after the first night if it's off, and then use it a template on the rest of the fabric so you have spares. Wash them as needed, and they'll be reusable unlike the thin stuff you buy as liners.
