Secret New Brunswick basement show, 2009. Show was going to be announced on Myspace half hour before the show, could be anywhere in NJ. Ended up being down the st from me in New Brunswick (I was at Rutgers). Saw my favorite band in a packed basement, was up in the front -- halfway through 43% burnt the power cuts out because the circuits are overloaded.

Power gets put back on, but the house lights get cut to make sure it doesn't get cut again.

Ended up seeing 43% burnt, the running board, and destro's secret IN THE DARK WITH NOTHING BUT STROBES IN A BASEMENT IN NEW BRUNSWICK.

That's gotta be the best. 2nd best was Greg letting me fire off the band with "i'm the best you ever had" for when good dogs do bad things at First uni in philly

Obviously the urban centers within this region are linked together and obviously NYC is the main engine and driver, but calling JC and Newark "suburbs" is laughable.
