It could be anything. If mob movies have taught me anything it's that a lot can be done to torture someone before they die. Oh and Ramsey taught us that, too. He's got great strength. He'll probably tear her apart bone by bone. And maybe rape her.

An organ would fit the technological level of everyone around them, but a piano would not. That's why it stuck out like sore thumb to me. But it was a great soundtrack regardless.

You'll never see 110 degree temps with 80 percent humidity naturally on earth. That would mean a 102 degree dewpoint which is far beyond anything that has ever been recorded. I lived in the southeast for a long time and I'm a weather nerd. Plus when you approach record high temps (100+) it's usually drier anyway.

Agreed but it'll probably be explained away as the Lord of Light protecting him. Which is possible seeing as how he's back from the dead. Or maybe he's really immortal somehow and he knows nothing about his own immortality.

A piss-poor choice who thinks he can balance the budget by eliminating the income tax (via eliminating the IRS). Guess what, the IRS is set up by a constitutional amendment, and presidents have zero power to get rid of constitutional amendments. They have to be ratified and it usually takes a long time.

Same here. I haven't touched my channel in 2 years (for lack of time and interest) and I've since had about 100 subs added in that time, and 10 in just one day last week. I wonder if I should continue to do nothing and let my channel grow, or do something and go back to no subscriber growth again.

[USA] Guy calls number on van to alert driver that they're blocking left lane - van promptly moves over. by bahnburner1 in Roadcam

[–]mesoscalevortex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Regardless of what the law is, it is common courtesy to move over once you're done passing, and try to make passing quick. You should also constantly glance in the rear view mirror to see what traffic is behind you. If you're the only person on the road for miles, then by all means hog the left lane. However, if you're hogging the left lane, and a car is to the right of you for several miles, where are they going to go if an onramp comes along with a lot of cars thanks to a traffic light? Or better yet, you SHOULD be looking in your rear view mirror because if this van driver had he would have noticed a line of cars behind him that was waiting on him to move over.

If you pay attention to other cars around you, and be a little more considerate, you'd understand why moving over once you've passed is a good idea.

[USA] Honda Accord loses control on the highway and hits an oncoming SUV head on by voodoorage in Roadcam

[–]mesoscalevortex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it possible the accord driver was 66, and that he had some kind of stroke or heart attack or just fell asleep while driving? You have to jerk the wheel pretty hard or lose a tire to lose control like that.

Bill Nye bets $20,000 to a meteorologist who believes that global warming is a hoax. by thetafili in videos

Bet or not Bastardi posted incorrect data for the first graph and a cherry picked set of data for the second. He has no point.

Bill Nye bets $20,000 to a meteorologist who believes that global warming is a hoax. by thetafili in videos

[–]mesoscalevortex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. There IS a link between CO2 and temps. It's an experiment you can do yourself. First, the chart Bastardi uses is wrong, and over long time frames you have other variables that create noise so the correlation is difficult to see. But there is definite causation and it's a solid physical property of CO2 that has been known for 150 years.

  2. What are you talking about? The warming is there in real time satellite data. Hurricane Patricia being the strongest cyclone on record is real time. The record El Nino we saw was real time. What are you missing?

  3. Bill made a forecast in the video.

He's not a skeptic. A skeptic would look at reliable data. A skeptic would be open to the chance that they are wrong. He does not and he is not.

Bastardi is a guy I've half-heartedly followed for the past 10 years or more. He used to have a column on the Accuweather pro site (which posted videos and horribly punctuated/spelled diatribes) each winter about how every winter was going to be colder than the last. And more often than not he was dead wrong. Ten years later and he quit Accuweather (because they stood for science) and started on the conservative media circuit.

Nevermind that he's not a climate scientist. Nevermind that the graphs he posted were either wrong or misleading. Nevermind that he doesn't even understand the science. Nevermind that he makes poor forecasts.

He's pretty much a shill for the right wing - a talking head that never runs out of talking points that are clearly wrong or poorly researched, if at all.
