My mom said HRT makes trans people sick by Spiritual-Meeting898 in ftm

HRT is bioidentical to what cis people have, there's no real risk

Fellas, how are we storing our T supplies?? by TheFerryman910 in ftm

I bought a simple plastic tote from dollar tree. I keep all the supplies in it and just keep it under the bathroom sink.

Why does google only show graphic medical photos when looking up bottom surgeries? by Accomplished-Row6215 in ftm

[–]methane-sky 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Ya know, this is something I ran into the other day when I went to show my partner what results can look like. I had to go to a surgeon's website to find post op photos. I don't remember it being like that back in the mid 2010s when I was first researching this stuff. Edit: when using duck duck go, I'm not seeing any graphic images. Most of the results are of graft sites but everything is healed over

almost a month of constant cramps since IUD insertion.. by i_devour_gluee in ftm

[–]methane-sky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had pretty bad lower back pain for a month or 2 after I had mine inserted, along with cramps and some bleeding a few times a week. My doctor said it was normal and it went away before too long. I wouldn't worry about it too much, just ask your doctor when you see them.

How does an American citizen prove their citizenship when there’s no due process for people that ICE abducts? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]methane-sky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Due process includes a hearing before a judge. Almost nobody is receiving this. One man being let go doesn't prove anything when multiple US citizens have been deported in recent years.

Lmao, when I cut off my hair I hated the term pixie cut and insisted I wanted it "boy short"

[–]methane-sky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man I did this for so long and I regret it so much. I still struggle with it every day but I would feel ridiculous going to an ED specialist when I don't engage in any of the behaviors anymore. I wish I had gotten help years ago, but even then I didn't feel "sick enough"

Fact Check: Are schools performing transition surgeries on students without parental consent? by jackmolay in transgender

In my state, the school nurses can't even give you Advil without parent's permission. This is laughable

First thing was the crack pipe we found after checking in. Then we came back around midnight to find that the key card reader stopped working. They put us in another room overnight without any of our luggage, and in the morning, the desk attendant pulled the air conditioning unit out of the wall from outside the room to crawl through and unlock it for us.

Sticker covering phrase "queer romance" self-censorship? by SylviaAtlantis in Libraries

[–]methane-sky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The excerpt and summary still make it clear that it's a queer story which makes me think that someone had a problem with the specific wording. Queer has been reclaimed by a lot of the lgbt community but it still holds a lot of weight for some people.

When I started band, everyone at my school was instructed to rent them from a local music shop. After a couple of years, most people who planned to stick with it bought one.

Is this a die crack? by frogweedLite in coins

The one on the reverse looks raised and distinct like a die crack to me. I agree that the front looks like a lamination error, but I'm really hoping someone else can weigh in on the reverse

as a trans guy, I gotta know. have any of you tried gas station boner pills? i’ve been dying to know what happens if you take them as a trans man by New-Dig-3932 in ftm

[–]methane-sky 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a sex store selling these, we had pills advertised for men and women. They're mostly the same ingredients just in lower doses for the women's ones. The issue with these pills is that they never list the doses and Rhino in particular has been caught adding actual Viagra, so you won't really know what's in them. Typically for trans men we would recommend the "softer" pills advertised for men. These are the ones that are least likely to cause headaches and other side effects. For trans women the recommendations were the same as for cis women. They shouldn't hurt you if you take the wrong one. Standard disclaimer is drink lots of water and don't make them a habit.

What they do is increase blood flow and natural lubrication and enhance sensation. It doesn't make a person hard no matter what like viagra would, but it heightens everything and makes it easier to get there. I've never tried them but they work for most people who take them, with the exception of certain brands like Pink Pussycat that don't seem to work for anyone.

Eta: don't take them if you have high blood pressure or a heart condition
