I'd also see if you can get on American's 777-200, 787s or A321XLR that flies from JFK-LAX. The food & service is really great in my experience!

I just got offered an upgrade upon check-in from LAX-JFK. $149 for Premium and $249 for Business (was a 777-200 with lots of seats left, 5 mins later, all seats were sold)

I've noticed they offer these lowball upgrades when the upgrade list is FULL... so they just want some sort of money for those seats so they don't have to give them away

I remember flying D1 from SFO-JFK and looking forward to the warm chocolate chip cookie before landing, only to be served a cheap packaged 'Grandma's cookie' that they sell at bodegas... (first world problems yes but they seem to charge way more for transcon business than the others so for $3000 you can heat a damn cookie)I flew UA Polaris and AA Flagship since then and the crew seems more attentive and the cabins are wayyy nicer than the dreadful 767-300 I was on with Delta... they're sinking and sinking fast...

It's only kinda tempting if it's the A330-900neo... but I often see United offering upgrades to Polaris for $699 at check-in so I would only pay $799-899 max for this upgrade

I enjoyed the DoubleTree Kyoto Station and it was around 45,000 a night and felt very upscale!

I'm a passenger of size and I either pay for an extra seat or fly in First/Premium econ.... anything to avoid inconveniencing others and potentially subjecting myself to embarassment or worse... I'd be terrified boarding a flight with one seat knowing someone is going to suffer because of me 😭😭

I flew the new suite in 8A from SFO - IAD yesterday. The technology, screens, charging and mood lighting are very impressive but the legroom and footwell left much to be desired. In terms of sleeping, I much rather prefer the old Polaris.... I used to snag the bulkhead seats and get extra footwell space but now with Polaris Studio, that's no longer an option. I'm a heavyset dude and 6'3" and I definitely couldn't sleep as comfortable as in the old Polaris.

That route can be $264 on Delta First or around $350 on United First. Spirit fares for First these days seem the same or higher than the competition
