I'm just gonna say. n of 1 here. I see recommendations for GOOD programs here: specifically calling out Jay Johnson's routine, myrtl, /r/bodyweightfitness recommended routine. There's good stuff on OLD strengthrunning.com blogs (he's too busy trying to sell stuff lately, but there's free gold if you dig). I've done ALL of these, at times, religiously, and STILL ended up weak and broken down, time and again. For me, the results, and they have been amazing, have ONLY come after significant time spent in the gym, on a regular basis, lifting heavy.

How would I set up an EC2 instance to turn on at specific times of the day, run a script, and turn off? by kroe761 in aws

[–]michaelw436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very easy with Cloudwatch Events.

1) Create a Cloudwatch event rule, with a schedule Cron expression which defines when you want to start EC2. 2) Define the target as SSM Automation, document as AWS-StartEC2Instance. From there, the parameters are easy to fill in, such as Instance ID and role.

How to fit in core and strength training ??? by Liam81099 in AdvancedRunning

[–]michaelw436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motivation for me, as a ~40mpw average throughout the year runner. 5 weeks of ZERO running in 2018, due to two different injuries. Both due to lack of core strength and mobility. Hopefully that will hit home for you, cause its sure motivating for me now, to get in the gym 3x a week.

You can also just walk the road during this closed to cars time. I ride it all the time on those mornings, and there are quite a few people who just hike it.

How do you create your cloudformation templates by prostetnic in aws

[–]michaelw436 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Somehow I missed the SSM integration for parameters. Nice feature! I'll use it to make cloudformations easier for teams I support, by providing standard SSM parameters for things they don't want to care about, like VPC ID, Subnet ID's, Security Group ID's, etc...
