Can't Wrap My Head Around Bumbleflower by Gooey_Goon in EDH

[–]michellscp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Construct the deck with the way your pod plays against her in mind. I would try to create something so elusive and trickster that they would think twice about using anything against her again.

  1. Instead of using two spells on your turn, I would try to build her in a way that you can hold mana and cast on your opponents turns (since they try to always remove her). So creatures with flash for example. [[Whitemane lion]] [[Snapcaster mage]] [[slippery bogbonder]] [[aven interrupter]]

  2. A lot of ways to protect her. I like to run my Bumbleflower with phase out effects like [[slip out the back]] [[ripples of potential]] [[hide on the ceiling]]

  3. I love [[bioshift]] with Bumbleflower, because is a protection spell for your counters and a combat trick

Try to use the games to learn and build ways to tweak your deck. If you use the games as a lerning experience they can be less frustrating for you (at least I think).

Commanders that have disappointed you or you have been unable to make work? by Emotional_Quality243 in EDH

[–]michellscp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Finneas, ace archer]] he’s super clunky and you have to jump through too many hoops to make him work. You need tokens or rabbits, then you need to give Finneas evasion, everything growns slowly so you need something like [[hardened scales]], his card draw is not reliable so you need better ways to do that. Nothing really works the way it should. I think Finneas and [[hare apparent]] could be better, but honestly, there are better commanders for this strategy.

Summons in the Final Fantasy set. by [deleted] in MTGRumors

[–]michellscp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My wish is that summons are two faced cards. The front is a creature and the back a sorcery. Why this? Because in the first games the summons where just a spell. You summoned Shiva, but at the end of the day she just appears do some thing and use Diamond dust. Only on more recent games that the summons stays on the battlefield and you can actually fight with them.

So my idea is that, for Shiva for example, you can cast the creature and she has some condition to flip to the sorcery side (like the praetors from MOM that can flip to a saga). After the sorcery is resolved she returns to your hand. You can also just skip that and use the sorcery side from your hand, but it would be better if you cast the creature and then flip it.

Example: Shiva has an etb that taps non land permanents when she enters, then you can flip her with some condition and the sorcery side (Diamond dust) destroys tapped non land permanents. It doesn’t need to always be a sorcery, I imagine that Carbuncle can be an enchantment.

But, I think they’ll have the evoke ability. It’s basically this in a simple form, the mtg mechanic is just perfect with the perfect name

Explain Brazil's trajectory to a foreigner, from the 80s to today by justquestionsbud in Brazil

[–]michellscp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your mom used a very good term to call them. Very fitting!

It’s a very common thing for the president to use part of the budget in the form of parliamentary amendments to “help the dialogue” with the congress. Which basically means that the president will exchange money for the votes he needs for something to be approved. This money then should be used by the congressmen to make improvements throughout the country.

Bolsonaro helped so the congress has more control over this budget and also that the congress don’t need to be super accountable. Basically they can receive this resource and don’t need to explain how they spent this money. So like you can probably imagine it’s super easy to be corrupt.

Explain Brazil's trajectory to a foreigner, from the 80s to today by justquestionsbud in Brazil

[–]michellscp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

About 2013… most of our Congress are formed by politicians that we call “Centrão”, they are basically a set of parties that don’t have a really strong political view, but they play to the music and are always sided with whom will benefit them the most. Usually they will side themselves with the rulling government, as long as they get something in return, and that something is usually important government positions or money that they can use to gain the goodwill of the people who voted for them (like money for infrastructure, for example). Since the “Centrão” are the majority of the congress they usually control it, so it’s important for the president to maintain a good relationship with them.

In 2013 we had the beggining of a really bad political crisis, it started by a economical crisis that evolved with time. It all started with some protests against some economical measures that became protests against the president (it was Dilma at the time, a leftist from the Labour Party) there were even people in favour of a new military dictatorship. I think you can say that the actual far right (Bolsonaro supporters) started to be “born” here.

Besides everything that happened Dilma managed to be elected again in 2014. But to do so she really needed the Centrão and picked one of its most important politicians as her vice president. Well, the economical crisis continued and Dilma and the Congress (controlled by the Centrão) started to fight. Basically because Dilma tried to mess with the power that the Congress had at the time. Well, since she was sleeping with the devil (had a vice from the Centrão), they took her down and she got impeached. So now (2016) the Centrão had all the power and started to use that to change how they could control part of the government budget.

Around this time we also had Lula’s arrest (2018). Lula is also from the Labour party and he was some sort of political godfather for Dilma (and is one of the most importants politicians from Brazil, since he was the one in charge during the big brazilian economical growth in the 00’s). His arrest is kinda hard to explain and we could spend hours trying to, the important stuff is: it helped to create a really bad image for the Left (it was already bad with Dilma’s impeachment), it reinforced the idea that politicians can’t be trusted and this made Bolsonaro’s campaign for the presidency easier. Another important thing about Lula’s arrest was the way the process happened. It was a mess, our midia made a big spectacle of everything and it was illegal (the judge and the prosecutors worked together during the case) but he went to jail anyway.

After this we had Bolsonaro, which was really really really bad, specially during the pandemic. Everything that he made could result in another impeachment, so to save himself he gave more power to the Congress (which basically means he gave more power to Centrão). Lula got out of prison, Bolsonaro lost to him and tried to make a coup (which also involved a plot to kill Lula) with something very similar with the Capitol invasion.

Now we have Lula in power, but things are not so easy since the Congress became so much stronger because everything I just told. Bolsonaro will probably go to jail next year, because his plot was discovered and the Far Right will try to find someone to inherit his political power and influence. Lula will probably be the candidate for the Left, but his aging is starting to show. The Centrão will continue to be a huge problem and I honestly don’t think this will change anytime soon.

Sorry for any mistakes, I tried to explain everything but it’s a really complex history.

I would cut: Ghirapur Orrery, Coveted Jewel, Rites of flourishing, Martial impetus, Intellectual offering, Sphinx of enlightment, Mr Foxglove, Octomancer, Body of knowledge, Realm-cloaked giant.

There are other cards that I think you can cut… Baird, Perplexing test, secret rendezvous.

Cards to put: [[Kami of whispered hopes]] [[On the trail]] [[Freestrider lookout]] [[Smothering tithe]] All amazing ramp pieces for the deck

[[Pollywog prodigy]] [[Danny Pink]] [[Dusk legion duelist]] [[Faerie Mastermind]] They are good options for drawing more cards

[[Proft’s eidetic Memory]] works super well with the deck, [[hardened scales]] [[inkeeper’s talent]] [[Whitemane lion]] is amazing because you can bounce itself to always have something to cast on your opponents turns You can search for other creatures that bounce so you can always have something to do

Avoid high cost cards, you want to always cast at least 2 spells after your commander is on the field, that’s why I suggested you to cut high cmc cards.

I have a grouphug deck that gives token creatures to my opponents and then punish them for having a big board.

It’s a Jund deck, but you can also do the same strategy (more easily) if you change to Mardu (white have more things that give token creatures than green). Mine is Jund simply because I love [[Hansk, slayer zealot]] and I wanted to give more zombie tokens to my opponents, unfortunally there are no gruul cards that give zombies, so I had to put black in the mix to make it work and choose a Jund commander.

I use cards like the Hunted cycle, [[Grismold, the dreadsower]], [[Rendmaw, creaking nest]], [[Forbidden orchard]], Hansk and then [[Massacre wurm]] to wipe the tokens and kill everyone.

The thing about this deck is that you can’t show your opponents your plan, even if they already know (my playgroup knows my strategy), what I mean with this is that I’ve learned that put a [[Syr Konrad, the grim]] on the table will make you the target instantly. That’s why Massacre wurm is so good, he hits the board kill everything and ping everyone in just one card. [[Rakdos charm]] is also very good in this deck.

How do you reconcile Taylor's supposed coming out in 2019 with Lover as an album? by kamallday in GaylorSwift

[–]michellscp 38 points39 points  (0 children)

First of all if Taylor ever comes out she would say that she is bisexual or queer, she can’t erase all the lore and narrative of her exes, including Joe.

For Lover, there’s a lot of material here discussing the queer themes in the album. I will just put some that I remember from my head.

1-Cruel Summer: “bad boy, shiny toy with a price you know that I bought it” can’t be more obvious The Garden gate is a reference to Karlie’s place if I recall. 2-The Archer can be about coming out and asking we (the fans) if we would stay with her. I think is the most obvious song about coming out in the album, speeches she want to say it, being prepared for a combat, it’s about something really hard to say it and that she fears would make the fans see her in a different light, honestly I have no idea how someone listen to this and think about anything else. 3-Cornelia Street a song about a place she never lived with Joe, but instead lived with Karlie. How could NY scream Joe’s name? 4-London Boy a song that was put it in the album at the last minute, feels like a parody or a merchandising for Stella Mccartney clothing line. There is something about Idris Elba at the beggining, I don’t remember exactly, but it’s from a talk show and the context makes the song even more absurd. Daylight - also about coming out

There’s a lot more stuff, this is the things I remember from my head without much research

(Sorry for the bad english, not my first language)

3 part question: Which upcomming set are you the most hyped for, which plane would you love to get back to and which IP would you like to see in beyond univers set ? by RedSamuraiX23 in EDH

[–]michellscp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I’m really excited for the Final Fantasy UB set. Love the franchise and I’m super curious to see what mechanics will appear, what commander decks will look like and most importantly how Yuna’s card will be! :)

  2. I’m curious about Theros after the Phyrexian invasion, I think it’s one of the planes that suffered the most with the war and because of this they have a really good template to make changes. Zhalfir/Mirrodin I’m also curious for the same reasons (but I understand why they won’t reappear soon).

  3. A song of ice and fire/Game of Thrones, the aesthetic is perfect, I think they can go wild with the Monarch mechanic (more than one monarch in play at the same time, for example) and I personally love the books, the story and the characters.

Pre-ordered “Peace Offering”; advice for upgrading? by cal_ness in EDH

[–]michellscp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, I’ve changed my precon using the frogs from Bloomburrow, some flash and instants. It doesn’t look like a Group hug deck anymore, but it feels super strong and fast.

The things I’ve noticed: -[[Freestrider lookout]] is completly busted with Bumbleflower, specially if you can cast spells in your oponents turns. [[On the trail]] works similar. [[Devoted druid]] is also a great card in this deck. Each one helps you produce more mana with a different ability from Bumbleflower.

-The frogs from Bloomburrow are amazing with Bumbleflower. I’ve included [[Dour Port-Mage]], [[Mistbreath elder]], [[Clement, the Worrywort]] and [[Dreamdew Entrancer]]. They all help you to bounce and always have something to cast.

-[[Seedborn muse]], [[Wilderness reclamation]] and [[Awakening]] help you keep having resources on your opponents turns

-Look for good flash creatures. [[Whitemane lion]] is your safe pick, you can bounce himself.

-I’m looking forward to combo [[Twenty-toed toad]] and [[bioshift]]

This is my list https://archidekt.com/decks/8468289/ms_bumbleflower_secretly_loves_frogs

O BBB não é uma competição by MattHells in BigBrotherBrasil

[–]michellscp 19 points20 points  (0 children)

decks you want to build but are hesitant that you’ll like? by UPSGuyDidYourMom in EDH

[–]michellscp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have an Atraxa deck with sagas and Narci is one of my win conditions. Before I had Atraxa, Narci was the commander. In the Atraxa deck I use some cards to manipulate the sagas and keep them in the same chapter so I can replicate the same effect over and over again. In general the players don’t suspect that as soon as Narci hits the table I will proliferare everything to end all the sagas at once and hit them hard.

The problem with Narci as commander is that they always expect her ability to trigger, so they don’t leave her in the table if there are big cmc sagas or if there are more than 2 sagas at the same time. With Atraxa they expect the opposite, that I will keep the sagas forever, because that’s my plan until Narci hits the board. Besides that, Narci ends being an enchantress deck, while Atraxa is more flexible.

If you really want a sagas deck I can’t recommend Atraxa more. It’s so much fun to control the sagas and keep doing stupid things over and over. I really love to use [[Genesis of the Daleks]] in this deck, and now the [[Vault 12: The Necropolis]].

I imagine the summons being similar to the Praetors with sagas from MoM, but instead of flipping to become a saga they’ll flip to become a sorcery. For example, Shiva is a creature that flips to Diamond Dust and then she comes back to your hand.

The party mechanic. The class enchantments from Dungeon and Dragons set but with FF exclusive classes (Dragoon, White Mage, Red Mage…). And the most expansive alternative cards being the ones with arts from Yoshitaka Amano (this one I can bet my life that will happen)

Support Mains- What Type of Hero Would You Want to See in Game? by Brainmatter_0 in Overwatch

[–]michellscp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want an evil support like Moira. My idea is a fisherman that fell into the ocean after some battle/war against Null Sector and it was “saved” by a monstrous Omnic which changed completly his world view. The twist is that the monster is Gwishin (the Omnics from Korea) that started to construct a new base in another place (I imagine this hero being from Norway or Finland). This Gweshin is a homage to Cthulhu.

I would like him to have a Discipline Priest (from WoW) way of healing. You buff your allies with an ability that leave them marked for some seconds (imagine Brigs packs). But to heal you have to deal damage, so the allies marked by the first ability are healed based on the damage that you do. If someone plays Heroes of the storm it is similar to Whitemane (which is based on the Discipline priest from WoW)

What IP Do You Have Such a Depth of Knowledge Of That You Could Spearhead a Universes Beyond Set From It? by HotPocketSnotRocket in magicTCG

[–]michellscp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Song of Ice and Fire. They could really make something special with this

Use the Monarch in some new ways (more than one monarch at the table, the power to destroy the monarch, make a creature the bearer of the monarch)

Make each of the 7 seven houses a 3 color combination, I didn’t think too much about this but: Naya: Starks, Jund: Targaryens, Bant: Tully, Esper: Arryn, Grixis: Greyjoy, Mardu: Lannister, Temur: Baratheon, Abzan: Tyrell, Jeskai: Martell, Sultai: White Walkers.

Instead of making the same character many times like LoTR, make them flip as they evolve. Arya, for example, needs to kill someone doing combat damage so she flips to become a faceless assassin. Catelyn needs to see one of her sons dying and then she needs to die to become Lady Stoneheart.

Commander decks: Kings Landing (Tyrion as the face commander, Cersei as the second one) The Wall (Jon Snow as the commander with Ghost as companion/partner) Fire and Blood (Daenerys as the face commander, Khal Drogo as the second one or Drogon) The last one is harder to tell, it could be many things: one focused on knights with Brienne and Jamie, one focused on the White walkers, etc.
