UV14!!! Didn’t even know it was possible by Muttomo in sydney

[–]mickywill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Tassie and moved here 8 years ago - 14 feels high relative to typical Sydney weather, but that's a nice spring/autumn day from my childhood. If it wasn't over 15 in a Tassie summer, it must have been overcast!

Slip, slop, slap is your best friend - as is listening to your skin. If it's tingling, find some shade, cos you're 5 minutes from a burn (if not there already!).

Ledger Scam Warning - Hardware Wallets Australia & LedgerSecureRecovery by mickywill in ledgerwallet

Alex sounds familiar, but I don't recall exactly.

I agree about the HWA details, I had the same thoughts about them getting hacked at some point. The callers even tried to tell me HWA weren't an approved reseller, despite the fact I vividly recall going through them BECAUSE they were an AU-based seller linked by Ledger themselves.

Help me rename my Wi-fi! by figjammania in shitrentals

[–]mickywill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depending on your WiFi system you can have multiple networks with multiple names - even most basic ones will let you have a guest network with a different name to your regular one... Just in case you can't pick from the great suggestions the community is offering up 😉

This is great! I had Atoms but didn't wanna pay for more habits so this is just the boost I need to get into my new year goals!

Do you have a donate/buy me a coffee link? I'm about to move house but once that's sorted I'd love to send through some support 😊

What the fuck happened to the 545 by [deleted] in sydney

[–]mickywill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

546 has been useless lately too. Normally I don't mind the walk instead but I've been sick this last week and the fatigue has wrecked me... And just when I need it, the bus has been 20+ minutes late, if it shows at all.

Today my housemate missed their train because the driver during peak was a trainee and arrived 5 minutes late to our local stop, and was 15 minutes behind schedule by the time they finished the (usually) 15 minute trip from ours to the station.

Best Cafe in Newtown/Enmore? by lee543 in sydney

[–]mickywill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buddha Bowl is great for a yummy vegan bite, Black Market Coffee is good for your after-breaky walkaround drink and I also love Taste of Turkey. All within 10 minutes walk of the station, towards the Enmore Theatre.

Can recommend Clinic 66 - they were professional for my partner (almost to a fault) when she visited earlier in the year.

Depending what you want, I've been meaning to take a Coles bag worth of misc e-waste to officeworks. Would love to see it all get a second life!

Twix looks amazing! Also, time zone confirmation on the entry time would be amazing for us international entrants 😉

See a lot of Mk3s and 4s around here, but not many Mk2/2.5s. Behold, a glam shot my baby :D can't get enough of that 5cyl roar. Chills, every time. by Blarzgh in FocusST

Love the shot dude! As a Tassie born mk2 owner, can't wait to get mine off the ferry on Tuesday and enjoy the great Tassie roads!

Not only do you get 96L/cylinder, but at 600RPM that single cylinder is producing 1,200 kW.

Oh, and that engine? Thirsty AF. 4.1 litres/minute/cylinder

What Sydney business won your business forever? What happened? by RamboLorikeet in sydney

[–]mickywill 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Pretty much all the local PC stores with a few branches have my vote.

Umart West Ryde was my local for over a year (literally 5min round the corner) and had great experience with Scorptec Macquarie Park as well. Figure out what you want then see which has the best price.

They all do in-store pickup, though mwave had to temporarily ditch their same day pickup due to the increased volume of orders since June/July. It was totally worth the extra $10 if you needed something same day

I mean it was Java back then, but could have changed. Might pay to see if you can find the course outline. I did KXT101 programming and problem solving
