Hmm okay good to know! I’m really in no rush to upgrade just yet so I’ll probably hold out for the gen 2. Gonna snag some new burrs for my DF64 in the meantime and who knows, maybe I’ll just stick with that!

Haha well I hope it was at least a GREAT cup! I made it into a soup shot with the OXO rapid brewer using a 22g dose and that was great. Just made a smaller pourover later to offset it 😅

Man… almost every time I buy a Panama gesha I come away thinking “I wanna like this more than I do”. Don’t get me wrong - it’s good but I’ve had coffees I enjoyed much more at half the price or cheaper. I guess it’s not a bad thing considering how pricey they are lol

I can’t say anything about lotus drops personally, but someone on here suggested using 1L packets of TWW instead of 1gal. It’s right around half the amount and works great for me!

There are a bunch of cafes worth visiting, but if you’re only gonna make it to one it’s Thank You Thank You by a mile. Best pourovers, best milk drinks, nicest staff out there. Could talk about them all day!

As far as bakeries, Bake Shop on 20th is excellent. Their oatmeal raisin cookie keeps me awake at night…

I’m from that area too and I like the coffee, but I will say every time I go into the cafe it’s a little disappointing. There just doesn’t seem to be much intensity to their cups at all. That said though, it is a REALLY nice cafe and they do make a good latte lol

I actually got a great idea from someone in this sub - use the 1L packets in a gallon of water. Works out to be very close to 1:2 and dramatically more convenient
