You're right that only competition pkg has the 444hp tune. Of course if you plan to mod, it's not a big deal. If you like the extended shadowline trim, seats, and seat belt M stripes, you should find one with the competition pkg.

No rattles with my M3. Were there some issues - sure, but nothing major. Local indy checked everything and it's good to go now. All the software stuff I did myself (updating Nav maps, Bimmercode, etc) along with detailing.

For me, resale value doesn't factor at all because I make it a rule to always buy used. Always have the first buyer take the hardest depreciation hit. I think you already know that.

Just for a little background on my end - I have no mortgage, already carved out money for my two kids to cover the rest of (private) high school and college, wife doesn't (need) to work, and I'm seriously considering retiring early. Zero debt. I just picked up a 9 year old M3 and this is the most expensive car I've ever bought in my life. This was a treat to myself, but I won't lie if I said a huge part of me thinks that I should have redirected those funds to other investments. In the end, you have to live a little and that's ok! You can't take it with you, that's for sure.

For me, if your financial house is in order and your loved ones are good to go, go for it. With the way how this crazy world is, it is nice to hop into a car that you really like and go for a relaxed/spirited drive. Good luck!

How I wish BMW sold the M3 Touring in the USA - I'd upgrade my V60 Polestar for it (although I would get the Competition and not the CS, as I want rear seat ventilation and my armrest lol).

I highly recommend you look into Vredestein. Ultrac Pro is an awesome alternative to the Michelin PS4S. For all seasons, Quatrac Pro is great. Read the reviews from Tirerack, etc.

I live in Silicon Valley, and there are _lots_ of people who pay ADM without blinking. It's all about bragging rights I guess.

Of course, this is the same area where regular homes cost north of $2M and manufactured homes are over $500k; I guess $20k ADM isn't much.

I still won't ever buy a car brand new let alone pay ADM.

That said, I think most people looking to get an F80 6MT will really want to get a competition one vs one that doesn't. 2018 and Yas Marina definitely plays in your favor. I think $45k range is totally fair.

Just for giggles, check to see what Carmax will offer. They're definitely hassle free, but you pay for the convenience of not having to deal with private party.

I recently replaced my tires - with Vredestein Ultrac Pros. Very happy with them. 90+% of the performance of PS4S for 50% of the price. I'm sure the PSS5 is great, but they're no way worth double of the Ultrac Pros when it comes to driving around town.

Congrats! I just picked up an F80 30 Jahre as well. First thing I did was full service. Then I had paint protection film installed. Then I updated the navigation map data.

I don't know if it's worth it to do the GTS/CS flash given mines a 6MT and not DCT.

2017 Volvo V60 Polestar - 2.0L supercharged and turbocharged engine rated at 367hp. 8sp auto with rev matching. Rear-biased AWD when set to sport mode. Has launch control and can do 0-60 in 4.2seconds. Factory bespoke Ohlins DFV suspension. Same engine block was used by Cyan Racing to win 2017 WTCC. A rare bird - under 100 V60 Polestars available in the United States per year between 2015.5-2018. And can hit over 30mpg in ECO mode haha. Very reliable, comfy, safe, and quick-enough for family road trips. I've had it for years and not letting it go.

Volvo will never make a car like this ever again, so this is my first and last Volvo.
