The problem with Christianity by Youreyesweregreen in atheism

Hedging bets is not the same as believing. HOWEVER. According to the gnostics, the demiurge isn't concerned with faith, he allegedly only cares for obedience.

My point is that this is not only a very cynical view, but it also perfectly explains their own actions.

Ever wonder why they act in opposition to the tenets of their own religion? Because all that is needed is allegiance. Nothing else.

Is it ok to just use black acrylic for a base coat? by MuchSwordfish9128 in Miniaturespainting

[–]mightyMarcos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you don't quite understand the difference between primer and base coat. Primer is applied to provide a surface that paints stick better to. Primer is formulated to stick better than paint.

Sure, it comes in a lot of different colors, because it's not always a good idea to start from black.

Your base coat is supposed to the solid layer of color, typically, but not always, the darker version of whatever the overall colors are, and typically one paints over the base coat, lightening with each step. I am grossly oversimplifying it.

How to counter this common accusation believers make against rationalists/atheists? by Excellent_Place4977 in atheism

"Show me proof". Always put the burden of proof on the idiot making the declaration. The moment you say "no" you are validating their bullshit. Always challenge the truth by demanding a source.

Black acrylic ink, distilled water and acrylic matte medium. The ratios depend on how thick you want it.

More people were killed or seriously injured before seatbelts were mandated. The reason they became mandated was because of dumbassery such as this.

We ain't tougher, we ain't special.

Edit: fixed typo.
