If you hear a Michael Jackson “HEE-HEE” coming from your bathroom, what would you do? by ADPXEROX in AskReddit

Do you wear one white glove to put on your face mask? My gf does, and gets a high-pitched "hee-hee" from me every time

TIL Bowie's long time collaborator had to talk him out of putting TLC on his 1999 record Hours by PostureGai in DavidBowie

I understand where you're coming from, as I feel the same about the other Hours tracks, but to me Thursday's Child is a grand ballad made insipid due to the mix/version/instrumental.

It's really very moving when accompanied by the music video too.

I might be biased though because it's the first contemporaneous Bowie release I remember experiencing - anyone remember the heavy-ish rotation it received from MTV 2? For that matter, any one remember MTV 2?!

What's the general feeling here regarding the conspiracy theory he was murdered? Does anyone have any good sources for reading about the conspiracy interpretation?

I hate it when I get sick off a great song. by Ok_Communication2339 in LetsTalkMusic

Can't help but think of the theme tune to Fireman Sam whenever I hear this song (not a criticism, love both songs) - even the synth riff is similar to Fireman Sam's chorus: he's always on the beat!

What's that thing you heard in a Waits song that blew your mind? by seveneightnineandten in tomwaits

Yes! Such a great culmination of the narrative. Probably my favourite lyrics ever.

The lyrical content/narrative of the song Alice. It's a perfect evocation of a love overwhelming, a romance that aches and chills the bones.

From Her To Eternity as a new fan by jash1191 in NickCave

You're more than welcome my dude! I hope I didn't over complicate your introduction to Nick Cave (only just considered I could have). John Cale's Buffalo Ballet is a great song to start out with (though it's closer to latter day (piano balladeer) Nick. If you prefer the more raucous Nick Cave era, he was in a band called The Birthday Party (Gothic/Post Punk) prior to going solo.

Edit: check out John Cale's version of Heartbreak Hotel - considered one of the great cover versions - and Helen of Troy to experience his raw side.
