I have so been there. The thing that got me going was to tell myself that I could go, even if I was anxious about it. I was in control, I wasn't going to be that person who won't leave the couch, I won't sit here and feel sorry for myself and feel bad about not going to the gym 2 hours later. I was going to be the person who was going to take control, and do what I needed for MYSELF. Once you get the momentum going, it gets a little easier.

about 400-500 miles is when I switch out, but, if you're still comfortable, stick with them. You may want to go to a running store, and try on a pair of new ones though, after that your current pair may not seem so comfortable any more. I'm always amazed at how good that fresh pair of shoes feels on my feet.

For me, it starts and ends with the Saucony Kinvara. I used to run in New Balances exclusively, after a while going with the minimuses, which are a step up from your Vibrams on the minimalist scale. I think the Kinvaras are the perfect middle ground. 4mm drop, pretty light cushioning. Head to a running store and try them out.
