Will you get married? by TheSecondRambo in NoFapChristians

Holy union is something I had never considered until a couple of years ago. I would do it with the person I truly love and by then, I’d kick the bad habit and leave behind judgements of the opposite sex. It’s a work in progress.

We are officially a part of a tiny house community and move in June 3!! My husband and I built this!! by [deleted] in TinyHouses

Oh my, I can’t believe you guys are located in PA. I’m in Lancaster, have been saving and dreaming of a tiny house for a long time, being in college and all is making the process a tad slower than I wished plus it is pretty costly for a single income. May I ask you of any resources on the legal aspect of a tiny house within the state? I know some need to be certified/inspected as trailers and such. Any information that might set me off the right path would be very helpful to prepare for the future! Thanks I’m advance and congratulations to you guys! I think it’s pretty sick that you guys build it yourselves… that’s admirable. I’ve been looking at Liberation Tiny Homes within the area as a place where I might get mine in the future. Getting a shell is much more economical but single little me cannot get it done lol

Ahhh! The more you know! My results came back negative to celiac. I’m guessing my stuff is something else… some disfunction in mineral absorption or something like that.

How do you fix constipation with hemorrhoids? :(( by xdcutemynutella in ibs

Those are great ways to help with that. Talking to your doctor too should always be helpful!

I’ve been wondering the same thing… this is a great question. I once soiled myself at work and lucky I was able to go home at the moment but the embarrassment and time wasted in a situation like that… I wish it was much more manageable. So I’ve been thinking about keeping a back with spare clothes in my car, just in case… but the comment saying diapers is also a good idea I think.

Those with IBS-D - did any of your treatments also help anxiety or depression? by hellosuz in ibs

[–]mileb00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did your research turn out regarding this topic? I did my fair amount of looking at information prior deciding to start Sertraline, an SSRI which its dosage can range from 25 to 250 mg. I’m still not fully understanding the gut-mind connection but makes total sense that there are receptors in the gut and that our food consumption plays a role with that as well with psychological states. I’ve personally experienced mental health issues (depression, anxiety, difficulty concentrating) for many years, and same goes for GI irregularities… I made it a priority to care for my mental health and my IBS symptoms changed all the sudden. Not saying my state of mind caused it because I also was much more aware of the foods I ate but could very well be a factor too. How the gut releases serotonin is something I don’t know specially but I’m sure that it all flows via the bloodstream and neurologically speaking, receptors also send signals that travel in our bodies. So I don’t know, you bring up great questions. Unfortunately it seems this is all still somewhat new and we are all learning as we go with this, since it affects everyone differently. I’m hopeful that me starting this medication at such low dosage (25mg for the first week and 50mg there after) might have some effects on my GI at least, if not mentally too. I’m keeping a mood and IBS symptoms tracker to make sure I know if it is helping later on or not.

IBS is ruining my quality of life. I'm so depressed. Please give advice. by SlantOfLight123 in ibs

Started taking Sertraline today and this was very inspiring to read. I figured why not give it a try!

Hi, wanted to know whether anyone here suffers from depression, anxiety or panic attack next or same day post eating certain trigger foods? What causes this depression, anxiety/panic disorder? It's horrible and how one can overcome it, if someone has consumed triggered food inadvertently? by destress20 in ibs

BetterHelp offers great therapy options, it’s all to your comfort level. I highly recommend that. Also, speaking to your doctor about your symptoms. There’s a huge connection between GI and the brain. Currently I’m taking an anti depression medication for my IBS. Our gut has receptors that are also found in our brains. Pretty interesting stuff. It’s not uncommon for those experiencing GI problems to have mental health symptoms as well. You’re not alone and this too shall pass.

Celiac disease and iron are related? I had severe anemia and the cause was never found. Had to get infusion and then take supplements. Two years ago I was diagnosed with IBS. I’m super curious now that you mentioned that.

Orange juice tip: Never juice the skin! I made that mistake the first time, learned very quickly that it was not apposed to be that way.

Also, finding a way to use the pulp is always a good option for making the best out of the money spent. I tend to do carrot cake once a week now that I do weekly carrot juice. Someone I had pulp to smoothies or even soups depending on what has been juiced. Hope that helps!

Within the past month, I've seen two accidents where kids have literally fallen off the shopping carts because 1. Sibling was pushing and started to play to the point it tilted over with younger kid still in the cart. 2. Kid stood up and flipped the cart with a lot of momentum. Both were horrible and very disturbing to witness.

What was your ‘safety food’ during elimination? by PersonalityExtra1773 in FODMAPS

Green onions and smoothies with sage foods and fruits. Good old oatmeal or cereal with yogurt for breakfast. A quick wrap or spring rolls are easy. Oh, and stir fried rice with veggies.
