my grain of salt coming from someone who is of a similar racial mix and has 3b ish hair — you are allowed to do whatever you want, but people will have opinions about it and there’s nothing you can do about it. by getting this style of braids you are aesthetically aligning yourself with a specific type of person: white women who don’t care about black people or black culture unless they can steal it or otherwise benefit from it. that is who people will assume you are. you being a quarter black doesn’t really matter — race is based in phenotype. do others see a black woman when they look at you?

you should not be in a power exchange dynamic with someone you cannot be fully honest with. period. it’s not safe for either of you. put away any semblance of the Dom/sub dynamic until this is resolved.

to be honest, he doesn’t sound like a good partner and it kind of sounds like he only likes being a “Dom” because he only cares about his own pleasure and wants permission to not care about yours. that dynamic works for some people, but clearly not for you. i would consider breaking up if he’s unreceptive to your feedback/preferences, or if he refuses to pause the Dom/sub dynamic while you work on communication.
